Ariana Grande returned with another epic musical acting display in Wicked: For Good, but despite her powerful performance, she has once again found herself the focus of 'uncomfortable' comments from fans about her appearance.
The 32-year-old, who recently announced her 'retirement' from performing music after her next tour so she could focus on acting, has been in the media limelight since she was just a teenager.
Her press tour for the second instalment of the Wicked film wasn't without its controversy once again, particularly after a crazed fan jumped over a barrier and past security before lunging for the 'Side to Side' singer, before her co-stars stepped in to protect her.
It was during the last press tour in 2024 that Grande and her co-star Cynthia Erivo both faced criticism for their appearance, particularly targeting Grande and her body weight, with commenters suggesting that she was 'too skinny' or 'so thin'.

Another commented: "I hope Ariana Is healthy. I hope, she gains some weight. Healthy weight. Women should love their body without dieting crazy. One day, I hope to see that women are seen beautiful at a healthy weight. Not being rail thin."

Women in Hollywood have sadly always had their bodies examined and judged by the public and the media and Grande suggests that it can be very dangerous, especially if someone is already struggling with their body.
Grande shared a throwback to an interview from last year on her Instagram stories last week, with the comment: "Resharing this from last year as a loving reminder to all."
In her chat for the web series Oui Oui Baguette (yes, that is it's real name), the actress said: "I've been doing this in front of the public, and been a specimen in a petri-dish since I was 16 or 17.

"So, I have heard it all. I’ve heard every version of it, of what's wrong with me. And then you fix it, and then it's wrong for different reasons.
"It's hard to protect yourself from that noise, and it's uncomfortable no matter what scale you're experiencing it on. Even if you're going to Thanksgiving dinner and someone's granny says, 'Oh my God, you look skinny, what happened?' Or 'You look heavy, what happened?'

"In today's society, there is a comfortability that we shouldn't have at all - commenting on others' looks, appearance, what they think is going on behind the scenes, or health or how they present themselves, from what you're wearing to your body, to your face, to your everything. There's a comfortability that I think is really dangerous."
However, Grande is more than comfortable making jokes about the size of her ex-boyfriend Pete Davidson's penis, even if they are all overwhelmingly positive reviews.

She went on to say: "I'm really lucky to have the support system that I have, and to know and trust that I'm beautiful."
