Barack and Michelle Obama have addressed the rumours of them getting a divorce with a crushing jibe.
Pretty much since the start of the year, speculation of a split between the iconic pair has been absolutely spiralling.
From rumours the former US president was dating Jennifer Aniston to suggestions Michelle had missed events because of a rift, it’s been hard to ignore the chat about their relationship.
But the former first lady has shut down the separation speculation on multiple occasions. And now Barack and Michelle have jokingly addressed it together.

He joined his wife and brother-in-law, Craig Robinson, on the sibling’s podcast IMO for today’s (16 July) episode as conversation turned to the relationship rumours.
The pair have now been married for over 30 years and share two daughters together.

But still, Robinson saw the chance to joke: “Wait, you guys like each other?” when Barack came on to set.
And Michelle was quick to say: “Oh yeah, the rumour mill.”

The ‘very, very, very special guest’ wasn’t missing any chance to get in on the joke as he said: “She took me back. It was touch and go for a while.”
His brother-in-law said it was ‘so nice’ to have the pair in the same room together as Michelle quipped: “I know, ‘cause when we aren’t, folks think we’re divorced.”
The author went on to say there hasn’t been ‘one moment’ in their marriage where she’s thought ‘about quitting on my man’.
“And we’ve had some really had times and we’ve had a lot of fun times, a lot of adventures,” Michelle continued. “And I have become a better person because of the man I’m married to.”
This might be the first time the pair have addressed the rumour mill together, but the former first lady has slammed the speculation on multiple occasions in recent months.

One big talking point that seemed to ramp it up earlier this year was when she didn’t attend Donald Trump’s inauguration.
In another episode of IMO, she said her absence from the spotlight was just simply ‘the choice that was right’ for her.
“People couldn't believe that I was saying no for any other reason, they had to assume that my marriage was falling apart,” she said, referencing the headlines surrounding both the inauguration and Barack’s solo outings.
“It took everything in my power to not do the thing that was perceived as right, but do the things that was right for me, that was a hard thing for me to do.”
