Another day, another mad Bryan Johnson photo on X.
And at first glance, one of his latest feels like it could be a throwback to 2011 and the era of the viral ‘planking’ trend.
But it’s apparently a serious thing for the biohacker as he effectively ‘planks’ on top of his girlfriend, Kate Tolo. Johnson has unsurprisingly left much of the internet baffled with the photo as he says there are a number of benefits.
Oh, and here’s the best bit, he says they call it ‘GLP-Bryan’. Johnson and Tolo are very open about their lives and relationship on social media, revealing they don’t regularly share a bed and telling the world that she scientifically has a vagina that’s in the world’s ‘top one percent’.

‘GLP-Bryan’
In the pretty mad photo, Tolo lies straight on her back on the sofa, arms by her side while Johnson lays flat on top of her in what seems like an intimate but somehow, not intimate position.
So yeah, let’s just call it what it is, the bloke is planking his girlfriend.
But he claims: “I frequently lay on top of Kate with all of my bodyweight.
“The deep pressure calms her nervous system, quiets racing thoughts, and releases oxytocin which lowers cortisol. We call it GLP-Bryan.”
It’s already cited in studies that laying beside your partner can help relax a nervous system and I guess this isn’t too different to the anxiety-relieving weighted blankets that you can purchase.
And plus, it can be a pretty comforting feeling, with Tolo even responding to Johnson’s post to call it ‘one of my favourite therapies’ as well as ‘one of my favourite pastimes’.
“At your service,” Johnson wrote back.
Well either way, it seems to be an enjoyable experience for her at least – whether we want to see it or not.

The internet’s reaction
I mean, for us Brits, one of the first things that probably comes to mind when you see this snap of Johnson and Tolo is Will from The Inbetweeners.
The uncanniness to his ‘sex’ scene with Charlotte simply can’t be ignored. The position is near enough exactly the same.
“It’s literally that,” X users laughed as they admitted it was their ‘first thought’.
“Have you been watching The Inbetweeners?” another asked.
Johnson shared the photo saying to let him know ‘if you want a video demo’ while users asked why he’s ‘still acting like a teenager’.
“A good long, firm hug provides the same benefits, is backed by peer reviewed studies and doesn’t make you a total weirdo,” one joked.
Others called it ‘cringy’ as they shared old planking memes and another wrote: “This is along the lines of what i imagined romantic love to be like when I was a kid.”
But some users agreed wit him as one put: “Cant recommend this enough. It does infact work if you are very neurotic + have nervous system related pain.”
