Kevin Spacey has offered up some clarification following recent reports.
The 66-year-old seemed to admit he is ‘homeless’ following trials over sexual assault allegations.
Spacey was once topping the list of the biggest male actors in the world, with a huge list of screen and stage credits and awards to his name. But following major allegations in 2017, Netflix's House of Cards actor fell from grace.
He faced multiple criminal investigations but was found not liable in a 2022 lawsuit in New York, before a jury in London acquitted him of sexual assault charges in 2023.

Spacey issued a public apology to accuser Anthony Rapp and has denied allegations against him. But the film star has not exactly been getting booked up lately, and recently took on a bit of a surprising job.

Spacey’s homeless ‘claims’
Following his trials, the American Beauty actor said he was left owing ‘many millions’ in legal fees. It’s believed the scandal pretty much wiped out the entirety of his net worth.
And he now says his Baltimore home ended up having to be auctioned off due to his ‘not great’ financial situation.

"I'm living in hotels, I'm living in Airbnbs I'm going where the work is," Spacey told the Telegraph.
"I literally have no home, that's what I'm attempting to explain."
Spacey sets the record straight
As the reports that he was ‘homeless’ started going viral, the Se7en actor issued a statement that shines a new light on the claims.
“In light of the recent articles claiming I am homeless, I feel the need to respond,” Spacey said in an Instagram video yesterday (23 November).

“Not to the press, but to the thousands of people who have reached out over the past few days offering me a place to stay or have just asked if I’m ok.”
The actor went on to say he is ‘truly touched’ by their generosity but feels it would be ‘disingenuous’ to have people believe that he is ‘indeed homeless in the colloquial sense’.

He praised journalist Mick Brown for his interview but critiqued the outlet’s story as a published piece.
Saying he’s been ‘working nearly non-stop’ in 2025, Spacey continued: “And there are many people, as we all know, who are indeed actually living on the streets, or in their cars, or in terrible financial situations, and my heart goes out to them.”

However he says it is ‘clear’ that he is ‘not one of them’ and was not trying to say he was.
“Which is why it was a shame that The Telegraph chose to undermine the work of their own journalist by selling him out with a knowingly misleading headline for the sake of clicks,” he continued. “But I will now let you go back to your lives. Thank you for just paying attention for a few minutes, and for indulging me, and for all the kindness that you've shown me."
