Joe Rogan and Charlie Sheen gave their reaction to the news of Charlie Kirk's death in the middle of recording a podcast as they were told what had happened mid-conversation.
Kirk, a conservative speaker in America, was shot dead on Tuesday (10 September) at an event at Utah Valley University where a bullet struck him in the neck.
The FBI are investigating and have released images of a person of interest. The shooter is thought to have taken a position on the roof of a building on the university campus and fired one shot from a high powered rifle.
CCTV footage then shows the suspected shooter jumping down to the ground and running away, a manhunt to find the suspected shooter is currently ongoing.

Reacting to the news, both Rogan and Sheen were dismayed at the announcement and lamented the 31-year-old's death.

"Should we bring this up? I guess we have to. So this has just happened. We just found out that Charlie Kirk got shot," Rogan said on his podcast as he clutched his head in his hands.
“That’s f**king awful,” Sheen replied.
“And is he dead?” Rogan asked his producer Jamie Vernon, who could be heard saying 'no, I don't think so'.

In the immediate aftermath of the shooting there was a lot of confusion before Kirk was taken to a nearby hospital and confirmed to have died.
"One of the guys out there just said it was confirmed that he was dead," Rogan said as he got another update.
"Murdered for having a different opinion from somebody else,” Sheen replied. “Different ideology from somebody else... beliefs that didn’t align."
The below video contains strong language:
“Yeah. Yeah,” Rogan said, finding it difficult to choose his words, "I mean... I don’t know who did it or..."

It was at this point Vernon confirmed the reports which said Kirk had died from the shooting, prompting Sheen to say 'rest in peace, f**k, he didn’t deserve that, nobody deserves that'.
The actor later said that due to his celebrity status the possibility he might face violence was 'in the back of our minds' when making a public appearance.
"There’s going to be a lot of people celebrating this," Rogan said. "It’s so scary. It’s so dangerous too, to celebrate or to in any way encourage this kind of behaviour from human beings.
"He’s not a violent guy, he’s talking, talking to people on college campuses. He wasn’t even particularly rude. He tried to be pretty reasonable with people.
"He’s a very intelligent guy whether you agree with him or don’t, and there’s a lot of stuff I didn’t agree with him on, that’s fine. You’re allowed to disagree with people without celebrating the fact that he got shot.

"What you’re supposed to do with a guy like that if you’re opposing him is debate him, have a conversation where your argument is more compelling than his. That’s what people should be celebrating, discourse, we used to do that."
