Cher has opened up about her relationship with her music exec boyfriend Alexander 'AE' Edwards, firing back at those who have criticsed the pair's 40-year age gap.
The 79-year-old singer appeared on CBS recently and spoke about her three-year relationship with Edwards, where she discussed the age gap between them.
"We laugh all the time, you know? I just love him," she said of her partner, and when asked what message she had for people critical of their relationship, she bluntly said 'whatever'.
Cher said: "They’re not living my life. Nobody knows what goes on between us, but we just have a blast."

The singer explained that from her perspective, 'you get older, but your spirit is younger' as she said that Edwards was 'smart, funny and a delight' to her.

"I used to say, 'God, give me a toddler and a man," she added, revealing she got 'exactly' what she wanted.
"I think he’s beautiful. He’s really talented. He’s one of the most talented persons I’ve ever met."
She's talked about the age difference between them before, saying it was indeed 'ridiculous' on paper, but 'in real life we get along great'.

Cher previously spoke about why she wanted to date younger men as she explained that she preferred to be in a relationship with men who 'were raised by women like me'.
According to the singer, this would mean they weren't afraid of her, as she wasn't used to making the first move when it came to telling someone she liked him.

In the past, she's put up the statement 'LOVE DOESNT KNOW MATH, IT SEES' on social media in response to people asking her about the age gap in her relationships.
Another somewhat more grim reason why she doesn't date within her own age bracket was once discussed by the singer as she went on The Jennifer Hudson Show and said: "The reason I got with young men is because men my age or older - well, now they're all dead.

"But before they just never, they were always terrified to approach me."
She told The Kelly Clarkson Show that if she didn't meet younger men she 'would have never had a date' as she claimed 'older men just didn't like me all that much'.
Meanwhile, she said that younger men 'don't care if you're, you know, funny or outrageous and wanna do stupid things' as she said she was 'not giving up my personality for anybody'.
