Kit Harington points out major flaw in Harry Potter’s ‘best’ film which makes no sense
Kit Harington was announced yesterday to be taking over the role of Gilderoy Lockhart in HBO’s Harry Potter after Nicholas Hoult dropped out, but this is not Harrington’s first connection to the world-famous franchise.
Harington previously played the same role in the recent star-studded Audible-produced audio book, prior to being cast in HBO’s TV remake, and has actually spoken out about a major flaw with the Harry Potter film many consider to be the best.
Hoult was announced in the role of Lockhart just two weeks ago. It was announced that due to ‘scheduling conflicts’ related to the Superman sequel he would now be unable to star in the season two role now though.
Hoult had received widespread backlash for his decision to take the role following ongoing calls to boycott the series due to JK Rowling’s previous transphobic statements.

Harington however, whose career since Game of Thrones has seen a revival after a successful role in season three and four of HBO’s Industry as Henry Muck, took over from Hoult.
Harington pointed out a huge issue with The Goblet of Fire
Speaking to Variety about Harry Potter, Harington pointed out a pretty obvious issue with the tournament from The Goblet of Fire, the fourth film and book in the franchise which many consider to be their favourite.
The interviewer tells them it’s their favourite of the books, with the Game of Thrones man replying: “It’s good and it’s got a great ending. I have some questions about the plot holes during the tournament.
“It’s not a great tournament to watch, is it? Other than the dragon one, they don’t get to see underwater and they can’t see in the maze, so I don’t see what’s in it for the rest of the school?”
It’s a pretty fair criticism when you think about it as, in the book and the film, it’s never really explained how the students keep track of what’s going on.
He also goes on to state that he’s a huge fan of the series, motivating him to take on the role of Lockhart in the Audible re-recording of the audio book.

Harington is in the midst of a press tour for A Tale of Two Cities and spoke to Collider shortly after it was announced he was taking over from Hoult.
When asked about the news he said they were ‘one of the first people he spoke to about it’, adding: “It just got released. I’m thrilled. I’ve said a million times, for anyone who cares, that I’m a huge Potter fan. I’ve got to be honest, he’s one of my favourite characters.
|So, to be offered to play him is a real dream. I think he’s going to be so fun. You said, I got to play him in the audiobooks.
“That’s not the exact way I’ll play him in the show because it’s an audiobook, but I’ve had a taste of him and felt my way around him. He’s just a wonderful creation.”

Now, legendary actor John Lithgow will be playing Dumbledore in the series, much to fans' delight.
Professor Snape
Alan Rickman did a stunning job in his portrayal as Slytherin's leader, Severus Snape. And while he will never be forgotten for his role following his death in 2016, British actor Paapa Essiedu is set to step in for the series and will no doubt match the expectations that Rickman naturally set.
Professor McGonagall
The late Dame Maggie Smith set the bar high for Minerva McGonagall, portraying the head of Gryffindor House during all eight films. Ozark star Janet McTeer will be portraying McGonagall in the new series, with fans being keen to see how she'll take it on.
Neville Longbottom
Matthew Lewis' role as Neville gave us some pretty iconic moments over the decade the films ran - who could forget 'Oh my god, I've killed Harry Potter'!
Young actor Rory Wilmot, who recently appeared in Netflix's Unchosen, will be playing Neville in the series, and we have no doubt there'll be even more iconic moments to come.
Draco Malfoy
Though many fans can't imagine anyone but Tom Felton as the icy-haired bully that is Draco Malfoy, Lord of the Flies actor Lox Pratt will be stepping into the role - and I already have high hopes.
Lucius Malfoy
Jason Isaacs gave stellar performances as Draco's wicked father throughout the films - and now, it's time for Emma star Johnny Flynn to give the role a whirl.

The Dursleys
Harry's neglectful adoptive parents, Petunia and Vernon Dursley, were played by Richard Griffiths and Fiona Shaw in the films, with his spoilt cousin Dudley being played by Harry Melling.
In the series, Daniel Rigby and Bel Powley will portray the parents, while newcomer Amos Kitson will play Dudley.

Argus Filch
