A Harry Potter star who has since made a living via her 'niche' OnlyFans content says it 'saved our lives' after falling into the pitfalls of debt since the franchise's end.
The mother-of-four joined the platform in a bid to get herself back into financial stability, and through her special brand of 'fetish' content, she explained just how it has worked out for her.
Although, she doesn't think she has much time left to continue more success.
Jessie Cave, who is best known for playing Lavender Brown in the hit films, revealed on her Before We Break Up Again podcast last year that she was joining OnlyFans with content 'geared towards people who have an interest or fetish with hair.'

Explaining she noticed people were enjoying that type of thing, she 'just thought f**k it, I'm going to do something that is very niche.'

However, she feels that her time in the adult industry is soon to come to an end, and says the money has been a safety net that has allowed her to pay for her home and provide for her kids too.
After 18 years as an actress, and dealing with rejections, she reached her breaking point.
“I couldn’t go and, say, work in a supermarket because I can’t afford the childcare, and also I don’t want people shouting Harry Potter spells at me as I work at Tesco,” she said in a conversation with The Times, published today (8 August). “I could retrain but I can’t afford to do a degree. I had a breakdown and I thought, that’s it with acting, I give up. But also we have no money. It was a point of complete desperation.”
So, in March 2025, Cave began posting her hair content, such as brushing her tresses dressed as an elf, plaiting it, tying it around her waist, and much more.
“I thought I’d make five grand, be on it for a few months and it would buy me time to work out what we’re going to do,” she explained of her hopes for the platform. “But it’s now been over a year and a half and it’s genuinely saved our lives.”
“My rule is the hair is the main character. That’s how I justify it. It’s literally about hair: the texture of hair. The fetish. It’s very, very niche," she said, which sees subscribers pay under £5 per month to view.
But then she also offers a 'paid-for messages' service.
At the start, she posted a video thanking her time on the Harry Potter film set, which gave her thousands of subscribers within a day and a nice £15,000 payout.
“And I’ve earned more, easily, than my entire acting career within one year," she explained.
But it came at a cost.
“There is a stigma,” she said, and explained that while she didn't 'understand the risk of people thinking I’m doing porn,' when she joined, OnlyFans has so much more content to offer than explicit-only.
But as her time on the platform continues, she says she's had to adapt.
Namely, with breast enlargement surgery which her subscribers paid for.
Cave said: “I’ve always wanted a boob job, but part of me realised I’m not going to last a year on OnlyFans with what I’ve got — my hair can only do so much."
She revealed she thinks she's at risk of going bust on the platform is because she's 'not going naked.'
Cave added: "I don’t even talk on it. But I don’t know how long I can last if I don’t start giving more. The bottom line is I can’t afford to stop and I do enjoy a lot of it. There’s a lot that I don’t enjoy too.”
