Jake Paul and Anthony Joshua have been banned from boxing immediately after their fight tonight is done and dusted.
The YouTuber-turned-boxer stepped into the ring with the two-time unified heavyweight champion for a professional fight with some pretty clear rules and a rather large boxing ring.
Eight rounds at three minutes each, and both boxers wearing regulation 10oz gloves, made this the toughest test Paul has had in his boxing career thus far, with most of his prior opponents being aged former UFC fighters or very aged former boxing champions.
Having lost to Tommy Fury, Paul was expected by many to be the likely loser of tonight's fight, and there has been plenty of concern that Joshua will deal him a quick and painful defeat.

However, it took the Olympic gold medallist six rounds to finally take down his opponent, and now both boxers will be banned from stepping back into the ring for a little bit, since it was a professional fight.

For obvious reasons, a boxer cannot step back into the ring shortly after competing in a professional fight. Now that Paul vs Joshua is done and dusted, both boxers will be banned from competing by the Florida Athletic Commission for at least seven days.
Now that they're done with the fight, they'll be examined by doctors and enter a mandatory seven-day rest period for the sake of their health, with day one being the day after the fight takes place.
No matter what happens, neither of them can hurry back into the ring, but depending on how the fight goes, they are likely to spend more than a week outside the ring, not that they've got future fights pencilled into the diary.
Seven days is the minimum, but each boxer is supposed to get three days of rest per round, and given this is an eight-round fight, that could push the suspension period up to 24 days.
If a boxer loses by technical knockout (TKO), they're automatically suspended for 30 days, and if they're actually knocked out, which many fans reckon was on the cards in Paul vs Joshua, then they've got to be out for 60 days at least.

Joshua was always confident ahead of the fight, having previously said: "I'll just outclass this kid. I'm a serious fighter. That's the difference. I'm a serious, serious fighter.
"You’re going to get f**ked up. It is what it is. We can do another face off but I just believe I’m going to smash him. I’m gonna smoke your boy."
The bigger, heavier and more experienced boxer was the clear favourite for this fight and had previously said it's 'his job' to 'kill' the YouTuber turned boxer, which he presumably doesn't mean literally, but Paul has got to put on a show and claimed that Joshua has more to lose, saying 'the pressure’s on him' and insisting he was 'fighting free'.
He said: "I’ve already won, this is a lose-lose situation for him. I’ve got him in the corner right where I want him. I’m here to show the world what’s possible, to show kids what’s possible with self belief. This is what this fight’s about."
