Joe Marler has opened up about how much he and his fellow stars got paid for one of this year’s biggest shows.
The former rugby player of course made it to the final of The Celebrity Traitors and proved to be a pretty popular contestant with viewers.
And to be fair to him, he was pretty much the only one who was absolutely bang on about who the Traitors actually were. But unfortunately, Marler had that heartbreaking moment when his bestie Nick Mohammed somewhat betrayed him and booted him out.
Luckily for him, though, he got a decent pay packet no matter what happened – he could have left far sooner and still made the cash. Although that wouldn’t exactly have been as much fun, would it?

Marler’s pay reveal comes after speculation that all the celebrities got a blanket fee of £40,000 to be on the BBC show.

And the 35-year-old has now debunked this as he says he got a good few grand less.
With the stars competing to win money for charity, there’s been a fair bit of chatter online regarding how much or if they even got paid at all.
That speculated fee was mentioned on The Rest Is Entertainment podcast by Richard Osman and Marina Hyde as they said: “They were able to pay everybody a blanket £40k fee, right? I am spilling all my tea today. They're paying them a £40k fee.”
But when this rumour got round, Marler and his lot were just as stunned.
He told The Times: “Yeah, Daisy [his wife] read that too. She said to me, ‘Hold on, I thought you only got 30?’ I said, ‘Yeah, I did.’"
Marler went on to add that he doesn’t ‘think everyone got paid the same’.
“But I’m not bothered,” he said. “It was 30 grand whether you lasted two days or three weeks — a no-brainer.”

This pay packet for the BBC show is fairly different in sum to the likes of ITV’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! but similar in this sense of celebs getting paid different amounts.
Of course, Coleen Rooney was said to get a massive £1.5 million for her stint in the jungle, while it’s rumoured others can be paid anything from around £30,000.
But hey, I’m sure there’s plenty of us that would at least go on the Traitors for free – it’s a dream, surely.
