Kristen Stewart made 'biggest mistake an actor could make' on set with Robert Pattinson
Kristen Stewart has opened up about making a huge mistake while on set with Robert Pattinson.
The 35-year-old actress is perhaps best known for appearing in the Twilight series as Bella Swan, a schoolgirl who falls in love with 104-year-old vampire Edward Cullen, portrayed by Pattinson.
Despite him hating his character, there's plenty of people who felt the complete opposite, with the series also giving us some iconic moments and lines. I mean, who could forget that strange baseball scene with Muse in the background?
Pattinson has an extremely busy 2026 starring in The Drama, The Odyssey and Dune: Part Three, all alongside Zendaya. He first found fame thanks to his role as Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, but he really cemented his status as a sex symbol in his undead role, and it clearly had an effect on Stewart as well.

She has now opened up about what it was like to fall in love with her co-star, as they dated on and off for around four years between 2009 and 2013, weathering a cheating scandal.
Referencing the media circus around their romance, Stewart told Harper's Bazaar in 2019: "So much was taken from us that, in trying to control one aspect, we were just like, 'No, we will never talk about it. Never. Because it’s ours.'"
Speaking on The Howard Stern Show the same year, she said: "It's so weird, like, actually being honest about this. It's been so heavily consumed.
"I have this fear that people would assume that maybe I'm, like, you know — it's kind of attention-y, like, 'Oh, cool, you're still, like, pushing that narrative' or whatever.
"It's like, no, I've actually never been allowed to just say what happened. Because I was so self-conscious about seeming like an attention-seeker."
While some fans have suggested that their romance was partly to fuel publicity around the film, Stewart reassured fans that it was love.
Stern told Stewart that, in his opinion, falling in love on set is 'the biggest mistake an actor can make.'
"There was nothing I could do," she replied, laughing.
"We were together for years. That was, like, my first, you know," she said.
"Love," Stern interjected.
"Yeah, I mean, like, I was super in love with my high-school boyfriend. Super, super f**king in love with him. But me and Rob were, like, a little older, and it was just like, 'gu-gung.'"
Despite the two dating during filming of 2011 release Breaking Dawn, Pattinson later described one of their intimate moments as 'one of the most difficult things he's ever had to do', which is even more impressive considering he literally masturbated on camera for 2008 release Little Ashes.
Stewart got married to her screenwriter girlfriend Dylan Meyer last year, while Pattinson has been in a relationship with British model and actress Suki Waterhouse since 2018.
While things didn't work out for the Twilight pair, there are plenty of actors who met on set who have, or look set to, go the distance, including Zendaya and Tom Holland, Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher and Kit Harington and Rose Leslie.
