MAFS star who was kicked off show announces he's running against Count Binface and Nigel Farage in by-election
Former Married at First Sight UK contestant Luke Worley is set to give politics a go.
The reality star thinks politics ‘should be a walk in the park’, announcing that he will run as an independent candidate in the Clacton by-election.
MAFS fans will remember the 32-year-old being kicked off the 2023 series after a physical altercation with fellow groom Jordan Gayle.
Channel 4 bosses removed him with immediate effect due aggressive behaviour, which breached the show's safety and contributor care protocols.

“I’ve survived reality TV, so politics should be a walk in the park,” Luke told The Sun.
“Nigel Farage might be one of the biggest names in British politics and Lord Binface might be the king of political stunts, but neither of them grew up in Clacton like I did.
“They can bring the headlines and I’m fine with that but I’ll bring the local knowledge and the respect for the local community.”
He added: “This campaign isn’t about egos, it’s about giving Clacton a fighter who actually understands what people here have been through.
“If that ruffles a few feathers along the way, so be it. If you’re from Clacton and Vote for me you will basically be voting for yourself as I will be the only voice you have.
“Ironically it’s about time Clacton put Nigel in the Bin. Pun intended.”
On his AI-generated manifesto poster shared on Instagram, Luke said he was ‘standing because Clacton deserves a representative who answers to the people, not to a political party’.
“For too long, Clacton has been left behind. It’s time to restore pride in our town, support local families, and create opportunities for everyone,” he penned.
“My commitment is simple: to listen, be honest, and always put our community first.”
Other candidates for the Clacton by-election
Adham Alkhatip (Forward Party)
Alkhatip is an engineering student at the University of London and former hospital housekeeping assistant from Birmingham. He says he is standing on an anti-corruption, pro-worker platform.
Count Binface (Independent)
Real name Jon Harvey, the comedian and author is a familiar face at UK elections, standing in his trademark silver bin costume. His policies include abolishing the House of Lords, banning noisy snacks in cinemas and scrapping VAR in football.
Piers Corbyn (Independent)
The brother of former Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn says his campaign focuses on ending UK involvement in overseas wars, opposing compulsory vaccinations, halting net zero policies and scrapping digital ID proposals.
Nigel Farage (Reform UK)
The former Clacton MP resigned to trigger the by-election following allegations over the declaration of donations from two businessmen.
Farage did not declare a £5 million payment received in early 2024 from billionaire crypto-investor Christopher Harborne, claiming that it was an unconditional personal gift meant for his lifelong security.
He denies any wrongdoing and says he is seeking a fresh mandate from voters while a Parliamentary Standards Commissioner investigation is paused during the campaign.
Laurence Fox (Reclaim)
The actor and political activist founded the Reclaim Party in 2020. The party campaigns on patriotism, stronger border controls and support for working-class communities.
Ollie Granger (Independent)
The broadcasting and media professional from Colchester has no previous political experience.
He says he wants to improve policing, attract investment and jobs, and support farming and tourism in the Clacton area.
Rob Pownall (Independent)
The founder of the wildlife charity Protect the Wild is known for campaigning in a fox costume. He says he is standing to give British wildlife a voice and to campaign against trail hunting.
Amelia Randall (Balanced Britain Party)
The clairvoyant and Kent County councillor was elected as a Reform UK representative before leaving the party last year. She later founded the Balanced Britain Party, saying she wants to represent people who feel disconnected from politics or do not vote.
Kai Stephens (British Democrats)
The 21-year-old from Norwich represents the British Democrats, a nationalist party founded in 2011 by former BNP members. Stephens says the party is the only one that is serious, patriotic and nationalist.
