Margot Robbie has spoken about her upcoming gothic erotic film Wuthering Heights, where she stars alongside Euphoria actor, Jacob Elordi.
The Australian actress already made headlines for her role in the steamy trailer, which turned heads upon its release back in September.
Some viewers were quick to criticise the creators for 'whitewashing' a story which has been considered a classic since its release as a novel back in 1847 by author Emily Brontë.

As well as the aforementioned pair, Adolescence star Owen Cooper is part of the cast, in addition to Hong Chau and Shazad Latif.
Emerald Fennell is the director behind the highly-anticipated drama film, having made waves with her 2023 release Saltburn, which coincidentally also starred Elordi.
Ahead of its February 2026 release, Robbie has opened up on some of the more heated scenes which will feature in Wuthering Heights in what will be its third iteration after previous films were released in 1992 and 2011.
Speaking to Vogue about the film's release, the 35-year-old spoke specifically about the sex scenes, which you can 'get a flavour of' in the trailer, adding that there were 'sweat-drenched bodies spliced together with images of greasy fingers massaging dough, dripping in egg yolk and poking into the mouth of a fish'.
She said that the film 'goes there', explaining: "Everyone’s expecting this to be very, very raunchy. I think people will be surprised. Not to say there aren’t sexual elements and that it’s not provocative - it definitely is provocative - but it’s more romantic than provocative."

Robbie said that it is a 'big epic romance', going as far as claiming: "It’s just been so long since we’ve had one - maybe The Notebook, also The English Patient. You have to go back decades."
The actress said she discussed 'what reads to us as hot or exciting or sexy' in discussions with Fennell, saying that it goes beyond 'a sex position or someone taking their shirt off'.
Apparently, it was a scene where Heathcliff (Elordi) picks Catherine (Robbie) up with one hand, while shielding her from the rain with the other.
Robbie claimed: “It almost made me weak at the knees,” before letting out a sigh.

The Wolf of Wall Street star explained: “It was the little things that we loved as two women in our 30s, and this movie is primarily for people in our demographic. These epic romances and period pieces aren’t often made by women.”
Speaking about Fennell's style, Robbie said it's 'that feeling when your chest swells, or it’s like someone’s punched you in the guts and the air leaves your body', which she attributed as a signature of the director's.
"Whether it’s titillating or repulsion, her superpower is eliciting a physical response," the Barbie actress stated.
