Millie Bobby Brown has had a far different childhood than most but the strangest thing for the 22-year-old was her lack of interaction with people her own age.
Bobby Brown has certainly grown up on our screens, making her acting debut in Once Upon A Time In Wonderland as young Alice before her breakthrough with the Netflix mega hit Stranger Things, but despite featuring alongside fellow child actors in the series, she's now opened up about missing out on experiences with other people her own age.
She recently confirmed that she reached out to fellow cast members to 'make amends' following the controversial conclusion of the series, and while she's made lots of friends through her acting, it seems as if she would have valued some more time in school.
Speaking on Monday’s episode of the “Happy, Sad, Confused” podcast, the actress suggested that the biggest 'life skill' that she is missing is 'a bit of socialisation'.

She said: "Sometimes, when fans come up to me, they’ll be like: ‘Millie!’ And I’ll be like, ‘Ahh!’ It’s just I don’t know how to react sometimes to people my own age. I have a harder time.”

Naturally, growing up on a set where you're working and forming professional relationships can sometimes make it hard to know how to socialise in a more friendly setting.
“I grew up with primarily men on crews — let’s change that — men over 40 years old,” Brown explained. “So I heard a lot of adult talk growing up, and didn’t really talk about the things you’re meant to talk about as a kid.
“You hear, ‘Where’s the grip? Let’s grab a ladder,’ you know, that’s your whole conversation.
“So I could talk to that person extensively for hours about different lens changes and shots, but I can’t talk to you about, ‘Oh my god, what bars do you like around this area?!’ I’m like, ‘I don’t know.’ So I do lack a little bit of that.”
The Enola Holmes star also spoke openly about why her husband Jake Bongiovi is perhaps the perfect antidote for her own apparent lack of social skills.

“He went to boarding school and college, so he is like a social butterfly,” she continued. “When I met him, I really tried to lean in more to that. So I’m in my social era.”
The couple recently announced that they had adopted their first child together, while they also look after a large number of animals on a farm, which will certainly take up a lot of her time alongside acting.
She also opened up about falling into a 'slight depression' after filming on Stranger Things officially wrapped, and she wasn't the only one given the sheer amount of people who desperately clung onto the hope of their being a secret episode following the widespread disappointment of the finale.
Bobby Brown said: “It was very hard for me. I would not have expected that coming off of the show. I’m a very happy-go-lucky person.”
