Sarah Paulson gets ‘horrifying’ comments about 80-year-old girlfriend
Sarah Paulson opened up about the 'horrifying' comments she has received over her relationship with fellow actor Holland Taylor, and how she deals with the trolls.
The American Horror Story star has been dating Taylor, 80, since 2015 – but sadly it’s not all been positive reactions.
The 48-year-old was joined by the Two and a Half Men alum when she was honoured at the 2023 Second Stage Theatre Fall Gall earlier this month.

Many may be shocked by the 32-year age gap between Paulson and Taylor, but Taylor revealed the secret to their relationship to Page Six.
“I think we each follow our own path so we’re not exactly the same,” she said.
“We do some things separately so everyone gets to be true to what they believe. She’s much more social, and I like a little bit of alone time, so I have that.
"She spends some time with friends and not with me, so it’s a good balance.”
Both stars are particularly prominent in Hollywood, with Paulson even being named one of TIME Magazine’s most influential people in the world back in 2017.
So it’s no surprise the pair are regularly being talked about, as they continue to be open about their relationship.
However, people aren’t always so kind and Paulson previously opened up about getting ‘horrifying’ comments about her girlfriend.
She spoke to The Guardian back in 2020 about the amount of attention her and Taylor’s age-gap gets: “I don’t remember people going nuts about Michael Douglas and Catherine-Zeta Jones, in terms of their age difference.”
Paulson called the 32-year gap the ‘predominant interest’ in their relationship.
“I think people are fascinated by it, because it’s so not typical,” the star said. “Except for if you look around at plenty of well-known or recognisable couples, when they’re heterosexual couples, it just runs rampant, and I don’t see anybody becoming obsessed by those relationships.”
The Bird Box actor went on to explain the ‘consequence’ of their relationship being ‘such public knowledge’.
“Believe me, there have been plenty of young people on the internet who have tweeted horrifying things to me about it, and who don’t support it and who are so cruel. So it’s just a bit of a dance. But one I try to not let into my brain too often.”
Last year, Paulson shared an emotional tribute to Taylor on her 79th birthday.
She shared a snap of her girlfriend to Instagram with the caption: “Love of my life. The one. The only one.
“January 14th is my favorite [sic] day of the year- a day to unabashedly celebrate you @hollandvtaylor I am the luckiest of the lucky.
“I love you only. Happy Birthday magical poet darling.”
