How many joints Snoop Dogg will have actually smoked since announcing he was ‘quitting the smoke’

The rapper shocked fans last week when he said he was 'giving up smoke'

This is how many joints rapper and weed-lover Snoop Dogg has likely smoked since he announced he was ‘giving up smoke’.

In case you missed it, Snoop - real name Calvin Broadus - shocked his fans last week when he announced that he was ‘giving up smoke’ after ‘much consideration’ and ‘conversation’ with his family.

In a statement shared to X - formerly known as Twitter - Snoop said: “I’m giving up smoke.

"After much consideration & conversation with my family, I’ve decided to give up smoke.

"Please respect my privacy at this time."

Fans were so taken aback by the declaration that they even began to search for loopholes suggesting that, although he had said he was quitting ‘smoke’, he didn’t mention anything about edibles. Sneaky.

However, as some fans had already guessed, the whole thing turned out to be a publicity stunt for a barbecue/smoke pit company called Solo Stove, to promote their new smokeless fire pit.

In an advert for the company the 52-year-old said: "I know what you're thinking: Snoop! Smoke is kind of your whole thing! But I'm done with it.

"Done with the coughing and my clothes smelling all sticky icky. I'm going smokeless.

"Solo Stove fixed fire. They take out the smoke. Clever."

Clever, indeed - although some fans did admit to feeling a bit betrayed over the stunt, but should they really have been surprised given that the man employs his own blunt roller?

And the blunt roller in question, a woman named Renagade PerRana, previously revealed just how much weed he gets through.

She told the Kyle and Jackie O Show: “I do about half a pound a day, which is 75 to 150 joints.”

She later back-tracked on what she said, telling TM Hip Hop that she rolls about a quarter pound to half a pound a day, but made it clear that total amount wasn’t solely for the rapper.

OK I will do the maths.

"That’s for all my clients combined," she said

However, in 2013, Snoop himself seemed to confirm that figure during a Twitter Q&A where he estimated he smoked around 81 blunts every day.

So, let’s work out how many blunts he’s had since he announced he was ‘giving up smoke’, if what he said is in fact true that is.

Snoop made the announcement on 16 November, and today is 21 November, so that means that six days have elapsed, including the day he made the claims and today.

This means, assuming he’s still consuming weed at his 2013 levels, he’s worked his way through 486 blunts. An unfathomable amount for a mere mortal, but pretty much what you’d expect from him, isn’t it?
