Ex-Premier League footballer responds to claims he's dating Sydney Sweeney

A former Chelsea superstar has been the centre of dating rumours in the past week or so, linking him to the Hollywood star.

Sydney Sweeney has continued her ascent to superstardom with roles in Echo Valley, The Housemaid and Christy already this year - although the boxing biopic was widely panned by critics and flopped in the box office.

The 28-year-old has also amassed quite the social media following with her BTS snaps from films, controversial advertising campaigns, and some racy photos among the posts.

It does mean though, that news of her three-year engagement to businessman Jonathan Davino being broken off earlier this year, sent the media into a frenzy.

Speculation has linked the American actress with numerous big names in the entertainment and sports industries, though recent reports have pointed towards the Euphoria regular being with former talent manager, Scooter Braun.

But this hasn't stopped Italian media outlets from linking her to US Men's National team (USMNT) star, Christian Pulisic.

The forward once plied his trade at Chelsea in the Premier League, before making the switch to AC Milan in the summer of 2023.

On the Italian side, he has become one of the standout names in Europe, bagging 41 goals and 25 assists in 114 games for Rossoneri.

Pulisic has even been linked with a move back to England in addition to reports suggesting that he has starting seeing Sweeney romantically.

The latter forced the 27-year-old to take to Instagram to address the rumours, following AC Milan's 3-0 win over Hellas Verona.

Taking to his story on Sunday (27 December), he wrote: "Please stop with the made up stories about my personal life. Need to hold sources accountable it can affect people's lives."

Fans who closely follow the USMNT talisman know that he has been in a relationship with golfer Alexa Melton, as rumours of them dating started last summer.

They have since made their relationship official and often appear on each other's social media accounts.

Reports of Sweeney's romance with Braun have raged on too, despite no official confirmation from either of them, as they were spotted on dates in New York City and even shared a moment at the premiere of her latest film, The Housemaid.

Fans of both were aware of both of the stars being in relationships, though it didn't stop the news from going viral.

Pulisic would understandably be annoyed at the chatter, as his focus is firmly on AC Milan's push for another Serie A title, prior to the highly-anticipated 2026 World Cup held in his homeland, as well as Canada and Mexico.
