Sydney Sweeney's attempt to defend her controversial American Eagle advert hasn't gone down well with Aimee Lou Wood.
The Euphoria star finally addressed the criticism she received for the jeans promo earlier this week, but her long-awaited explanation appears to have caused even more trouble.
As well as receiving some flak from fans, fellow actress and The White Lotus star Wood, 31, has hit out at Sweeney for her lack of sensitivity towards the issue.
In July, Sweeney found herself at the centre of a scandal after starring in an American Eagle ad with the slogan, 'Sydney Sweeney has great jeans'.

"Genes are passed down from parents to offspring, often determining traits like hair colour, personality and even eye colour," the 28-year-old says. "My jeans are blue."
Although the play on words wasn't lost on people, a lot of folks thought that this teetered into dangerous territory - and Sweeney was widely accused of using eugenicist language in the advertisement.

Discussing the backlash she received, The Handmaid's Tale star said she was 'surprised' by the controversy her jeans ad caused - although she admitted she 'didn't see a lot of it' as she was busy filming Euphoria.
"I did a jean ad," Sweeney told GQ. "I mean, the reaction definitely was a surprise, but I love jeans."

A snippet of this interview was shared on Instagram on Wednesday (5 October) by celebrity photographer, social activist and Oscar-nominated filmmaker, Misan Harriman.
He told Sweeney that her response to the American Eagle controversy had completely missed the mark, as he captioned he post: "Presuming that you are not a white supremacist, at least say how horrified you were by how this campaign was amplified and celebrated by unrepentant racists who believe in eugenics.
"At least recognise the harm your jeans campaign has caused black folk, the undertone of the campaign is that your genetics are superior to others, the play on words is clear as day and racists LOVED it!
"So, presuming you didn’t know when you shot it, you certainly do now, and it matters. This ain't it!"

Harriman's upload quickly attracted thousands of comments, including one from Stockport-born Sex Education star Wood.
Simply sharing an emoji of a nauseated face, it seems safe to presume that the actress was left quite sickened by Sweeney's latest comments.
It didn't take people long to notice Wood's comment, which has since gone viral in its own right.

Sharing their thoughts on the infighting between the fellow The White Lotus cast members, one social media user said: "Aimee is always on the right side of history!"

Another wrote: "Do you realise how bottom of the barrel and straight up vile your behaviour has to be for one of your own peers to actually take time out of their day to comment a nasty emoji on a video that isn’t even yours?"
A third added: "You’re a real one, Aimee Lou Wood!"
And a fourth wrote: "Good for Aimee. Sydney seems to enjoy trolling."
