Lena Dunham makes incredibly rude joke at Taylor Swift's wedding and leaves guests stunned

It was the celebrity event of the year... Decade? Ever? So it's no surprise that juicy gossip is already emerging from the extravagant wedding of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce.

It's a love story that holds no bounds, with not even public streets or requests from the New York mayor for everyone to not lower their air conditioning too much during the heatwave stopping the happy couple from having the day of their dreams.

It was a positive who's who event at an 'utterly transformed' Madison Square Garden, with a 1,000-strong guest list featuring some of the biggest stars in show business and some of the richest people in, well, business.

The union of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce was announced to the world with big messages on billboards outside the world's famous arena reading 'JUST&T MARRIED.'

While there was a laundry list of famous faces at the main event on Friday, July 3, officiated by Adam Sandler no less, a smaller dress rehearsal of about just 100 people was held on Thursday, July 2.

That's where Lena Dunham is said to have made a quip that divided the room.

Dunham, the creator of HBO TV hit Girls, is one of Swift's oldest friends, with the Shake It Off Signer serving as a bridesmaid at her wedding in 2021, and was among the group of 100 close knit friends and family who attended on Thursday at MSG's smaller Infosys Theater.

According to the Daily Mail's 'impeccably placed insider', Dunham joked during her speech that 'American football is just straight guys reenacting gay porn.'

For the uninitiated, Kelce is an American footballer for the Kansas City Chiefs.

It's reported that the risqué gag left the room 'divided' with 'gasps and laughs' emanating from the guests.

It's said to have become one of the night's major talking points, while Swift reportedly labelled Dunham a 'genius' in the immediate aftermath of the speech.

While much of the wedding was kept under wraps with Swift and Kelce swearing the invited guests to secrecy, the fact it took place in the middle of the world's most famous city on Independence Day weekend ensured the star-studded attendees were hard to miss.

Bradley Cooper, Ed Sheeran, Dua Lipa and her husband Callum Turner, Karlie Kloss and Josh Kushner, the Haim sisters, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Jay-Z, Zoë Kravitz and even Graham Norton were all spotted in New York, amongst many more.

According to Page Six, a whole load of food and ingredients were spotted being delivered to Madison Square Garden ahead of the couple’s big day, giving fans an insight into what guests might be chowing down on.

It seems that attendees are in for some fine dining as boxes containing lobster meat were seen being transported into the venue.

Swift and Kelce also appear to be big fans of chicken, with several variations of the meat - including breasts, legs, boneless and blackened - reportedly labelled on the boxes that were delivered.

Packages of French fries and thick-cut onion rings were also seen, as well as fresh produce such as red and orange peppers and romaine lettuce, along with eggs, whole milk and heavy whipping cream.

A Krispy Kreme van also reportedly pulled up to MSG, though it’s unclear whether wedding guests are being treated to an Original Glazed Dozen, as there is a doughnut store located nearby.

A source claiming to have ‘direct knowledge’ told TMZ that Swift ‘personally curated food stations’ for her nuptials, reportedly featuring ‘speciality bites’ from a number of her ‘go-to spots’.
