Fans say Leslie Jordan helped them get through Covid-19 lockdown with his hilarious posts

The Will and Grace star has tragically died at age 67 and people are sharing the moments where he made them laugh during a dark time.

Tributes are flooding onto social media in the wake of Leslie Jordan’s death and many fans say the actor’s hilarious posts helped them get through the Covid-19 lockdown.

While the actor had a long career in Hollywood, most notably appearing in the sitcom Will & Grace and American Horror Story, Jordan became a social media sensation when everyone was locked inside their homes.

To honour the screen legend, fans have taken to Twitter to post his best bits.

Oh, and if you weren't yet lucky enough to basque in the 67-year-old’s hysterical videos, you’re in for a treat.

One fan said: “You were the light we needed in a dark time. RIP Leslie Jordan.”

Another shared: “Such an iconic actor and naturally hilarious man. From his role as Beverly in Will & Grace, to his multiple AHS roles, and his perfect presence on social media that cheered a lot of us up through lockdown, he’ll be so so missed."

A third said: “He kept us laughing during those times and for that he will forever be a legend!!”

Jordan died while driving through Hollywood when his vehicle crashed into the side of a building at Cahuenga Blvd. and Romaine St.

He was only 67 years old.

Following the accident, his close friend David Shaul issued a statement: "The world is definitely a much darker place today without the love and light of Leslie Jordan.

"Not only was he a mega talent and joy to work with, but he provided an emotional sanctuary to the nation at one of its most difficult times.

"What he lacked in height he made up for in generosity and greatness as a son, brother, artist, comedian, partner and human being.

"Knowing that he has left the world at the height of both his professional and personal life is the only solace one can have today."

Jordan’s Will & Grace co-star, Sean Hayes, also issued a tribute and called the actor a 'unique talent'.

He wrote: "My heart is broken. Leslie Jordan was one of the funniest people I ever had the pleasure of working with.

"Everyone who ever met him, loved him. There will never be anyone like him.

"A unique talent with an enormous, caring heart. You will be missed, my dear friend."

RuPaul, who invited Jordan to guest judge on his RuPaul's Drag Race, wrote: "Rest in peace, Leslie Jordan. Thank you for the countless laughs and for sharing your spirit with us all."

While another one of Jordan's co-stars, Jackee Harry, shared: "Completely heartbroken. Leslie Jordan was a kind spirit and provided us with so many laughs. Rest peacefully, friend."

Jordan's other TV roles included Ugly Betty, Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, Hidden Palms, Star Trek: Voyager, Caroline in the City, Pee-Wee’s Playhouse, Reba, Boston Public, Nash Bridges and Boston Legal, while he featured in movies such as The Help and Hero.

Outside of TV and film, he released a gospel music album called Company's Comin' in 2021, appearing on series six of The Masked Singer to perform 'This Little Light of Mine' as 'Soft Serve', before returning as a guest panelist the following season.
