It's time to finally lay down your swords, because it looks like the battle is finally over - Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson appears to have ended his feud with Vin Diesel.

The alleged ongoing beef between the Fast and Furious co-stars is well-documented, particularly when The Rock posted an uncharacteristically angry message on his Instagram account calling an unnamed Fast 8 male co-star a 'candy ass'. Grrrrr, you show 'em.

Although he never specified who the rant was aimed at, sources were quick to claim he was targeting Diesel.

Anyway, none of that matters now, as it looks like the Jumanji star has ended the war of words with another Insta post.

As spotted by Entertainment Weekly, Johnson posted a video message of him at the gym (where else?) in which he thanks the fans for making Hobbs & Shaw a hit - with a nod to fellow alpha male, Diesel.

With a pools' worth of sweat dripping off his face, the actor says: "I just want to say thank you guys so, so much.

"You have officially made Hobbs & Shaw not only a massive, global success - as we've just crossed $750 million dollars at the global box office - but also, you helped enable a build-out and an expansion of the Fast and Furious universe."

After thanking Universal Studios, as well as the cast and crew members, he adds: "Lastly, but not least, I want to thank brother Vin for your support of Hobbs & Shaw.

"I saw your post, and I appreciate it... What a wild ride this has been [since] 10 years ago, when you and I spoke and you invited me into the Fast & Furious family.

"I'm grateful for that invite. And as you know, my goal was always, all these years, to come into the Fast & Furious world and help elevate the franchise in any way that I possibly could...

"We did it the right way, we did it the smart way, and again, brother, I appreciate your support. And, of course, all roads lead to one thing - I'll be seeing you soon, Toretto."

Toretto being Diesel's character in the Fast franchise. Can we smell an on-screen reunion that's cooking?

Potentially, although that'll become clear in the months to come as more details about the next film in the franchise, Fast & Furious 9, emerge.

Until then, that was one heartfelt message from Johnson - not one 'candy ass' or 'chicken shit' in sight. Looks like the feud is done with... for now.
