Good news horror fans, filming has begun for The Haunting of Bly Manor.

Sharing a post on Twitter, show creator Mike Flanagan confirmed it was the second day of production for the new season.

Of course, fans are delighted that the highly-anticipated second season is on its way, with one writing: "My favourite working horror director. You are so insanely talented, and I can't wait for Doctor Sleep and Bly Manor!"

Another added: "And I am very grateful you are doing this so excited, loved Haunting of Hill House."

While a third said: "I'm so excited to see what you guys have in store. Good luck on the shoot, Mike."

As yet, we don't know much about the second season of the Netflix hit.

However, we do know that as the first season focused on Hill House and the Crain family, loosely based on The Haunting of Hill House by Shirley Jackson, the upcoming season will centre on Bly house and will be based on the classic horror novel The Turn of the Screw by Henry James.

The book, written in 1898, tells the story a governess who goes to Bly Manor to look after two recently orphaned children Miles and Flora, who were under the care of their uncle and had been looked after by housekeeper Mrs Grose.

But once there the governess begins to see ghostly shadows and figures prowling about the place -bloody typical, eh?

The second season is out next year, although an official date hasn't been announced yet, and will star Victoria Pedretti, who appeared as Nellie 'Nel' Crain in The Haunting of Hill House, as the governess Dani.

Oliver Jackson-Cohen, Henry Thomas and Kate Siegel will all be making a return to the second season, too - as brand new characters, of course.

And Jackson-Cohen, who played the grown-up Luke Crain in the first season, has teased that we'll be getting a 'very, very exciting story'.

He told The Wrap: "All I can say is that Bly Manor is going to be incredible. It's a very, very exciting story from what I've heard."
