Maitland Ward Says Her Move Into Adult Film Won't Harm Her Career

Former Boy Meets World actor Maitland Ward has said she believes her move into adult film won't damage her career, but will only bolster it as it opens up new doors.

In an interview with TMZ, 42-year-old Ward was asked if she was worried that the new type of work would affect her reputation in the acting world.

She replied: "I actually think it's the opposite because I've been opened up to so many more opportunities.

"I think I would be limited if I stuck in just a certain typecast situation. Now people think of me in a totally new way."

Ward continued: "Why do they have to be mutually exclusive? I think sex and good quality entertainment can be together."

Saying she'd already been offered more work off the back of her first porn feature, Drive, which premiered on Friday, she added: "This is just the beginning."

Ward was most known for her role of Rachel McGuire in '90s Disney show Boy Meets World, but she has also starred in other significant roles in the likes of White Chicks and Rules of Engagement.

Now, however, she's also taking on the adult film industry, in a bid to combine 'quality stuff and the hot sex stuff'.

Speaking to In Touch Weekly recently, Ward said: "They asked me to be a part of this, and I thought, 'I never knew there was anything in adults or porn or whatever that was this well done.'

"I read the script, and I was like, 'This is really, really well written. This has so many themes in this and just my character is so different than anything I have portrayed before.'"

She explained that it 'started slowly', continuing: "It all started when I started doing cosplay, which I really genuinely love doing and people started giving me attention for it, and I wore sexy outfits. I have always sort of been an exhibitionist, like always. I love dressing sexy in public and things like that."

While this is her first role in a porn movie, Ward says she had 'considered' porn for a while before deciding to dive in and getting involved in the movie.

Saying she 'felt ready', she added: "It wasn't like I was saying, 'Oh, I want to do this all along,' but it was like, 'I need to do this.'

"I really feel that quality stuff and the hot sex stuff can be together, and I really want that."
