Rick And Morty Creator Says He Wants To Make A Film

Th creator of wacky cartoon caper Rick and Morty has said he wants to make a movie of the hit series. Wubbalubbadubdub!

Celebrating the release of his company's first video game, 'Trover Saves The Universe', Justin Roiland took part in a Reddit AMA session and revealed that he would 'love' to take the cult series to the big screen.

One fan posed the question, asking: "Will we get a feature length Rick and Morty film ever? A rated R film that's totally bananas?"

And Roiland didn't disappoint, uttering the words fans have always wanted to hear, replying: "I would love to do that, yeah. Hmm. Hmmmmmm."

Unsurprisingly, the news went down a storm, with fanatics piling in to show their support for a feature length movie.

One person wrote: "Six seasons and a movie! And then four more seasons."

Referencing a previous episode, a second joked: "100 years of Rick and Morty."

"A Rick and Morty in cinema, everyone would watch that no doubt," said a third fan.

But if you can't wait for a film, fear not, the bizarre world of Rick Sanchez and his nervous little grandson will be back on our screens very soon, after creators confirmed the show would return to our screens in November this year.

And while there's not much to go off in terms of plot, Roiland did reveal that it was signed up for a further 70 episodes - which means years of the show are yet to come.

The new series will air on Channel 4 in the UK, and if that's not good enough news for fans of the cult cartoon, the first three seasons are already on E4 - the perfect chance to refresh yourself before the next lot air.

Roiland, who created the show alongside Dan Harmon, told Polygon: "We're super excited that, for the first time ever, we're locked in, we know what the future is, we have job security.

"Harmon is in great spirits, we have a great writer's room. We want the episodes to stay good, but we do also want to try to turn them around a little quicker now that we have this big order, I think it gives us the ability to be faster.

"We're not going to do these long breaks, these chasms in between seasons anymore. We're going to schedule vacation time and just keep the machine going. It's going to be really cool."
