After years of speculation, rumours of a sequel to Space Jam were confirmed and we'd be getting a follow up to the legendary original.
Now Warner Bros. has confirmed that the next instalment to the franchise will be released July 16, 2021.
Last month rumours began circling that Space Jam 2 would begin shooting this June, with many speculating that the timeframe would give everyone a three-month period to wrap things up before NBA training camps open for the 2019-2020 season - and, of course, before star LeBron would have to return to his day job playing for the Los Angeles Lakers.
But now the big guy himself has confirmed the news, while speaking at the NBA All-Star Weekend in Charlotte.
"I'm gonna be in Space Jam 2," he told a cheering crowd.
"We start filming that this summer."
There have been whispers of a follow-up to the 1996 live-action sports comedy starring Michael Jordan and the Looney Toons crew for yonks now, but finally the sequel seems like more than just a mere pipe dream.
Last September, SpringHill Entertainment released a teaser image on Instagram, which showed James' credits in the film along with Ryan Coogler as producer, Terence Nance as director and, of course, the main man himself: Bugs Bunny.
Then LeBron started getting excited, too, building up the hype even more.

"The Space Jam collaboration is so much more than just me and the Looney Tunes getting together and doing this movie," he told The Hollywood Reporter.
"It's so much bigger. I'd just love for kids to understand how empowered they can feel and how empowered they can be if they don't just give up on their dreams. And I think Ryan [Coogler] did that for a lot of people."
He also told the entertainment news outlet that Coogler was a huge draw for him, expressing admiration for his vision for Black Panther.
"I loved his vision for Black Panther," he said.
Okay, so now we have official word that filming is going ahead, now we just have to wait patiently for a trailer. My nostalgia sensor is going through the roof already.
There will be a lot riding on this film so here's hoping LeBron and the Looney Toons step up to the plate.
