Leonardo DiCaprio has surely donned all sorts while gracing movie sets, but it seems padding on his rear end is a first.
The wardrobe department were forced to get creative in the name of health and safety while getting the legendary actor ready for a scene in Killers of the Flower Moon.
Unfortunately, DiCaprio wasn't wearing butt pads just to emphasise the size of his derrière - it was something even more bizarre.

He has taken of the role of Ernest Burkhart in Martin Scorsese's latest flick, the nephew of power-hungry rancher William Hale, who is played by Robert De Niro.
In one of the iconic pair's most shocking scenes, DiCaprio had to endure a vicious spanking from his on-screen uncle.
His character Burkhart had botched an element of Hale's plot to murder the Osage family, and gain control of the oil reserves on their land.
Hale, furious with his nephew's incompetence, leads him into a back room and unleashes his punishment.

He goes to town on Burkhart's buttocks with a wooden panel - which is something most of us thought we would never see.
But before you start imagining the pain poor DiCaprio must have had to experience for the sake of cinema, know that his rear was protected by some padding.
According to cinematographer Rodrigo Prieto, it still didn't stop the crew from grimacing as they watched each strike of the paddle - in a scene which required a few takes.

He told Insider: "I do remember doing them quite a few times and thinking, 'Oh, that must hurt'.
"There was some padding on his butt. But you could tell De Niro was really hitting him."
"Leo is game for so much. He'll do anything."
Oscar nominee Prieto said the spanking wasn't even in the original script.

"That was something that was added, and it's shocking in the film," he said.
Shocking indeed.
But if you take a look at DiCaprio's track record, a spanking off De Niro was probably a walk in the park for him.

The Wolf of Wall Street star is known to completely throw himself into his characters.
When filming The Revenant, which was released in 2015, he barely batted an eyelid at the icy conditions.
DiCaprio decided to really immerse himself in the role of the frontiersman who had been abandoned by his hunting crew and savaged during a bear attack.
So, when the hunter was forced to chow down on raw bison liver to stay alive, the actor opted to eat the real thing.
He was supposed to eat a fake one made up of protein bars, but apparently changed his mind just days before the shoot.
I mean, the movie did score DiCaprio his first long awaited Oscar, so he must be doing something right.
