Fans rediscover banned film where director’s girlfriend carried out unsimulated adult act

The film was banned in multiple countries for its extreme unsimulated content

Film fans have rediscovered a movie where the director’s girlfriend carried out an unsimulated adult act on another actor in the film.

Movies with unsimulated intimate scenes are in actual fact more common than many would expect, despite each of them breaking a specific rule.

The list of celebrities who have appeared in scenes where they actually go all the way is longer than many would expect, including some big names.

In addition to that, there are films with unsimulated scenes being featured on major stages, with one film absolutely full of graphic genuine sex being highly commended at the Berlin Film Festival by critics.

A movie with unsimulated sex scenes in which the person carrying them out is actually the director’s partner, however, takes things a step further.

Called Gandu, the film follows a young rapper who goes on a drug-fuelled journey after stealing money from his mother’s lover to buy narcotics.

The titular rapper is played by Anubrata Basu and his sex with a character called ‘The Angel’, played by Rituparna Sen.

The pair have actual unsimulated sex in the film, with Sen performing oral sex on Basu.

Gandu was directed by Qaushiq Mukherjee, known as Q, and was highly controversial in India when it came out.

It was banned in several countries, including India where it was released on the internet and via DVDs handed out on street corners.

Film fans rediscovered the movie, which was on Netflix until recently, with one Reddit thread discussing it and similarly controversial Indian films Cosmic Sex and Chatrak.

One comment regarding the movie said: “Seen all three. GANDU better than the rest and actually a decent watch.”

Q, in an exclusive interview with LADbible, said that it went ‘viral’ when internet modems became popularised, leading to four million downloads.

He stated that the film exploited a legal loophole and due to them never intending to physically screen it in India, they could not be prosecuted even though it was technically released and went against numerous rules and laws.

Q spoke frankly about the unsimulated sex in the film, stating it was a ‘Trojan Horse’ intended to get people to watch the film, which was really about his thoughts on men in Indian society.

He said: “Everyone was like ‘oh s**t, there’s a blowjob scene'. So even if you're fast forwarding it, watching it at 3x and just skipping through it, you would end up watching at least 15 minutes of the film before you can find the f**king scene”

When asked about filming his girlfriend performing oral sex on another man, he said that his only job was to film what happened.

He went on to say of the day where he filmed her sex scene: “We were all very nervous on that day, because this was that day that we would shoot the sex scene.

"Apart from that, I don't think there was any concern, because we've been practicing that for the last six months to come there."

Regarding filming he said that ‘the actors would decide on what to do and how to do it’ and that everything was unsimulated.

He stressed that they had thought they were making a ‘neighbourhood film’ and hadn’t expected the attention, pointing to Pirate Bay as another major factor in its explosion.
