The big countdown is on until we get an official, new announcement about the future of Grand Theft Auto VI.
With Rockstar Games set to release GTA 6 in November 2026, we're not far away at all. And yet, it feels like we still know absolutely nothing about the game or what might be on the way in the coming months.
From pre-orders, to a third trailer or delay, how much GTA 6 will cost and what editions are available, lots remains unsaid by Rockstar and its parent company, Take-Two Interactive.
But fear not, with Take-Two set to host their quarterly earnings call on Thursday (21 May) at 4.30pm EST, which will be 9.30pm GMT. It's also their annual earnings call with it being a report on Q4 of FY 2026, so there's lots to hopefully be said to kick off FY27 with a bang. Here's what we expect could be clarified before then and during the call:
GTA 6 pre-orders
There's a bit of confusion around pre-orders as it stands. Best Buy last week sent out an email to creators about a supposed GTA 6 pre-order window that was existing from 18 May to 21 May.
Advert
But 18 May is here, and pre-orders are not, with the GTAForums.com community team somewhat debunking Best Buy's email after an internal email 'suggested they got it wrong' with pre-orders not yet happening.
This was reaffirmed by the site site, Spider-Vice, who got their hands on leaked emails saying no pre-orders are yet scheduled. They will of course happen, but it doesn't seem they're going to go live just yet.
This is where the earnings call could come in, with a clearer timeline on when you can secure the game in advance.

GTA 6 release date and third delay
As clarified by Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick over the weekend, 19 November, 2026 remains the date in question for the release of GTA 6.
Sure, it could be delayed again at the forthcoming earnings call. But would such a loss of face really be something he wanted to risk so close to the official update? It's a PR nightmare.
We expect the call to stick to the release date and in turn...
GTA 6 third trailer and marketing
If the Take-Two earnings call sticks to the 19 November date, we expect Rockstar and T2 to turn their attention to that final sprint - pushing the game in to every corner of the internet. And that push will come with brand new content.
We'd expect that to take the form of a third trailer, with the second trailer being given as a bit of a olive branch after the game was delayed by six months. Back in November last year, they said this delay was needed to guarantee GTA 6 is 'spectacular' - which sounds like a commitment to excellence from day one, rather than just completing something that is playable but still could be optimised.
As a result, this extra time tinkering by the devs should give us plenty of new content in the form of a third - and likely final - trailer, teasing features, gameplay, and just how much progression can be made when you have a 13 year gap between two instalments in the largest franchise of all time.

Knowing how Rockstar operate, the trailer could come before or after the call itself. They like to keep their audience on their toes, so get those alerts turned on the official accounts.
As for marketing, it is expected within the industry for this to begin in the summer ahead of the winter launch. So as for telling investors about what to expect in FY27, it would make a lot of sense from a stock perspective to let them know their shares could see a bump as more and more is revealed, previews are issued to gaming media, and creators sign on to share products with their own followings.
GTA 6 editions
There's going to be a whole load of interest in how you can purchase GTA 6. Will it be available physically or just digitally? And what about collector editions?
So far, thanks to renowned leaker DetectiveSeeds on X, we know there will be a few versions. A total of six, according to his information.
He reported there will be 'six ways of purchasing the game at pre order - three digital / physical which are the usual types of tiers, and then one that is more rare with some stuff, and then two tied with consoles (Pro and Standard) with a digital code for download'. Clarify on this will form a huge part of the marketing campaign so people can buy exactly what they want in advance.

GTA 6 price
As for how much we expect to pay, DetectiveSeeds again is the latest insider to come through with the knowledge here. He was asked if the basic release would fall within the price range of $60 to $80, which is £45 to £60. Replying, he said 'yes'.
Obviously, this is unconfirmed yet, but we'd expect clarity on this if the marketing campaign rolls out alongside pre-orders after the earnings call. And it goes without saying that the collector editions are going to be somewhat more expensive than $80, with history telling us they can range in to the hundreds.
