With Glastonbury 2022 just around the corner, attendees need to prepare for five days of full-on, action-packed festival atmosphere.

This may seem a daunting prospect for those who aren’t experienced festival-goers; thankfully, we’re here to help with a list of all the vital items to ensure you maximise your enjoyment over the course of the festival.

Considering Glastonbury is one of the most prominent festivals in the world, the living arrangements tend to be relatively well-organised and required facilities are more plentiful than at other festivals.

With that being said, over 200,000 people are expected to be present so it’s not going to be a total walk in the park.

Before we crack on with the ‘kit-list’, the weather can make or break a festival so it’s important to consider the conditions before packing.

Currently, BBC Weather is reporting a mixed bag with sunny highs of 25°C on Wednesday and Thursday before light rain showers with temperature highs of 17°C on Saturday and Sunday.

From how to cope with the weather conditions to how to help with blisters, here is a list of items you don’t want to forget about in your rucksack.

What To Pack For Glastonbury:

  • Festival ticket (obviously)
  • A reusable water bottle, there is drinking water on site (if you have a large collapsible water container this could also be put near your tent)
  • Tent
  • Sleeping bag
  • Roll mat
  • Wellies or sturdy shoes
  • Toilet roll
  • A warm jumper (for the night)
  • Sunscreen
  • Waterproof coat (as aforementioned, it looks as though it’s going to rain)
  • Toiletries
  • A few changes of clothing
  • Cash as well as bank cards, according to the official website, not all vendors will accept cards
  • Medication
  • Small first-aid kit
  • Torch (a head-torch is probably the most practical)
  • ID (for alcohol and entry to certain events)
  • Hat
  • Bags for dirty clothes and rubbish
  • Contraceptives
  • Portable Charger
  • Camping Chair
  • Some snacks and drinks for personal use
  • Sunglasses
  • An extra point made by the festival organisers is to label all valuables with your details so you can be contacted should someone find them.

What Not To Bring To Glastonbury:

These are all items that the festival organisers specify you should NOT bring or are prohibited.

  • Gazebos (they take up valuable camping space)
  • Glass items (will be confiscated)
  • Non-biodegradable glitter
  • Disposable wipes
  • Portable laser equipment
  • Animals (except guide dogs)
  • Generators
  • Sky-lanterns or fireworks
  • Personal sound-system
  • Weapons
  • Illegal drugs
