This is how you can go to Glastonbury 2023 for free

There's more than one way to get into Glastonbury, you know.

The first batch of Glastonbury tickets go on sale today, and you can almost smell the fear in the air.

Across the globe, people are logging into as many devices as they can find, testing out their Wi-Fi connections and setting alarms for 6pm today (Thursday, 3 November) in the hopes of getting their hands on a golden Glastonbury ticket.

If you don't manage to snag a ticket this week, though. There is another way to get yourself into the Somerset festival grounds next summer - and did I mention it's free?

Presenter and TikTok creator Megan Huria (@megsfromnz) has shared her top tips on getting into the festival through Oxfam's volunteer scheme. Check it out here:

Yes, you heard that right. If this week's ticket sales don't go your way, or if you're just not willing to fork out £335 on a ticket, you could be one of the lucky few who gets in to Glastonbury at no cost. But you'll have to move fast.

Megs explained that she got in to last year's festival as a volunteer for Oxfam, and now she's willing to share her secrets with other aspiring Glasto-goers.

You see, if you sign up to be an Oxfam volunteer for the festival season, you could wind up at some of the biggest events of the summer - all just for a few hours of work.

"You get your own car park, own campsite, toilets, showers, food tokens, charging station, it's legit. Plus you're doing it for a really good cause", said Megs.

Well, here's how you can make it happen.

"What you want to do is go over to the Oxfam website and register yourself as an account," she began.

"Make sure the address you use on the Oxfam account matches the address on your debit card or credit card."

"Oxfam volunteer at a number of events across summer. One of them is Glastonbury. When they release their set of tickets, you need to be in there. But you need to be registered before they drop.

"When Oxfam release their set of positions for volunteering, you go in there, you pay a deposit, which is the cost of a Glastonbury ticket.

"Then you do your three eight-hour shifts at Glastonbury. And after all of that's wrapped up, you get your [money] back."

It's foolproof! Just make sure that you move fast when those positions open up.

Plus, now that you're registered with Oxfam, you might as well volunteer for some of the other festivals they're appearing at.

I'm talking Latitude, Reading, Isle of Wight, Womad, Boomtown Fair, Boardmasters, Leeds, Nass, Wilderness, and more!

You can register your interest on the Oxfam website now.

If you're chancing your arm getting regular entry, tickets plus coach travel go on sale on Thursday 3 November at 6pm, and General Admission tickets will go on sale on Sunday 6 November at 9pm - just make sure you're registered first!

May the odds be ever in your favour.
