Jake Paul has spoken out about how he would’ve scored his high-profile fight with Anthony Joshua prior to the brutal knockout that broke his jaw.
Paul made his first podcast appearance on his brother Logan’s IMPAULSIVE podcast, speaking for the first time about the fight with Anthony Joshua.
Fans everywhere were shocked to see Paul take the fight with the former World Heavyweight boxing champion, with the end result of Jake walking away with a broken jaw and a knockout loss not coming as a huge surprise.
Jake’s strategy, however, has seen him come under fire, with many saying that the influencer-turned-boxer ‘ran away’ from AJ for five rounds before being knocked out in the sixth.

Based on how Jake has said he scored the fight, however, you wouldn’t think this was the case.
When Logan’s co-host Mike Majlak expressed admiration for what Jake does, he replied jokingly saying: “It’s not that hard to get your ass beat.”

After his brother Logan indicated he didn’t think it was ‘that bad’, Jake said he ‘won a couple rounds’ which was met with agreement from Logan and his co-host Mike, before saying: “Then he won two, then I got dropped.
“I was doing good, I just think my cardio, just the mental pressure of the big guy, and sparring the big people is different in the ten-ounce gloves.
“I was feeling his power a lot more, but it was a great experience, I learned a lot in there.”
After four rounds of evading AJ, Jake was caught with two big punches in the fifth round, scoring two knockdowns, before the British boxer eventually got a clean shot, breaking Jake’s jaw and knocking him out.

Many online, however, are not convinced by Jake’s claim that he won the first two rounds.
One fan tweeted in response: “Yeah I mean, gigantic props to the guy for taking the fight.
“Respectfully, running around and avoiding getting hit while not returning does not win you the round. Nice try though.”
Another was a bit harsher in their assessment, saying: “Jake must be still concussed after that AJ bomb.”

Looking at the stats, however, it really is hard to argue that Jake should have won the first two rounds.
In the first round, Jake landed two of his ten attempted punches, going on to land one out of six attempts in the second.
AJ, meanwhile, landed two from 11 in the first, and four from 26 in the second.
Boxing judging, however, counts ‘effective aggression’ and ‘ring generalship’ when scoring rounds, something that would clearly have to go to AJ in the first two rounds.
The British boxer then proceeded to out-strike Jake the rest of the fight, landing a total of 48 punches from his 146 attempts.
Jake, meanwhile, landed 16 punches the whole fight, with several fans saying his record from the fight will ‘never be beaten’ as he clinched 13 times with AJ.
