As Jeremy Kyle returns to screens with a new daily drivetime show on Talk TV, the presenter has vowed to ‘get everyone talking’ and that this is simply ‘the beginning’.

Kyle makes his debut on the newly-launched channel later today after a brief cameo on the channel earlier this week, with a new show that ‘packs a punch with fiery political panel debates, all the latest from Parliament, and exclusive interviews with big-name celebrities’.

It comes nearly three years after the host's flagship reality series The Jeremy Kyle Show came to an end, following the tragic news that a guest, Steve Dymond, took his own life after failing a lie detector test.

Since then, he’s fronted a drivetime show on talkRADIO, but now admits he ‘hadn’t realised’ just how much he’d missed TV until he ‘stepped into the studio and felt the lights’.

Speaking to The Sun about his new daily programme on TalkTV, which is also owned by News UK, Kyle said: “Presenting live TV is almost like a drug, it hooks you in and I just love the format.”

He said he’s ‘absolutely loved’ going back to his ‘radio roots’ over the past seven months, but said the time felt right for a new venture.

Kyle said: “The radio show has done really well but I’d be lying if I said I didn’t want to host my own TV show, too.

"That was the plan and it’s been something I’ve missed, but it had to be the right show at the right time with the right team.

"And now it feels like I’ve found it. It feels a bit like I’ve found my broadcasting home.”

Kyle previously told the newspaper that he was diagnosed with anxiety disorder after his ITV show was axed, saying he couldn't bring himself to ‘leave the house or even open the curtains’.

But he feels excited about the future with his latest project, saying: “Being back at work, back on the radio and now back on TV too, it’s really fired me up and I can’t wait to get started.”

Kyle warned that ‘sparks may fly’ as he welcomes ‘straight talking, big opinions and star bookings’, but added that he wouldn’t ‘shy away from what people are really talking about and how they’re talking about it’.

He said: “I mean, how can you not be impressed with a brand new channel bagging huge interviews with Donald Trump, Boris Johnson and man-of-the-moment Tyson Fury on its very first week on air.

“But this is just the beginning, and now the announcement has been made, I can’t wait to make my own mark on TalkTV with my own brand new show that, I guarantee, will get everyone talking.”

Announcing details of the new show earlier this week on The Talk, Sharon Osbourne's programme on TalkTV, Kyle said: "It’s been a while, but I am really excited and delighted to announce that I’m going to be hosting a brand new primetime show right here on TalkTV."

He added: "This show, with the People’s Panel, is going to be about the news, but it’s going to be about how the people the length and breadth of this country respond to that news. I want them involved in the programme."
