With the third season of Emmy-nominated Amazon Prime series The Boys now well underway, fans are curious to know what actor Karl Urban’s net worth is in 2022.

Born on June 7, 1972, in Wellington, New Zealand, Urban began his professional acting career early in the 1990s, with small parts in the television series Xena: Warrior Princess and Hercules: The Legendary Journeys.

Now, the 50-year-old is known for his role of Billy Butcher in The Boys, which he has played since the show’s release in 2019.

What is Karl Urban’s net worth?

As of 2022, Karl Urban’s net worth is $20 million (£16.3 million), according to Celebrity Net Worth.

Urban got his big Hollywood break in 2002 with his first film Ghost Ship.

However, he was best known for his role as Eomer in Lord of the Rings films The Two Towers and The Return of the King.

In that role, he won a Screen Actors Guild Award, among others, for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture.

Urban has also starred as Dr. Leonard 'Bones' McCoy in Star Trek, Star Trek Into Darkness and Star Trek Beyond, alongside Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto and fellow The Boys cast member, Simon Pegg.

As well as starring in these beloved film franchises, Urban also played Vaako in The Chronicles of Riddick and Riddick, Judge Dredd in Dredd, and Skurge the Executioner in the 2017 Marvel film Thor: Ragnarok, as well as many others.

As of 2022, Karl Urban is best known for his role as Billy Butcher in Amazon Prime series The Boys.

Butcher is one of the show’s protagonists, whose main mission in the series is to expose the corruption underpinning the show’s superheroes, and avenge the death of his wife.

For his role as Billy Butcher, Urban has received a Critics Choice Super Award nomination and a Hollywood Critics Association Television Award nomination, as well as nominations for best ensemble from the IGN Awards.

Created by Eric Kripke and adapted from the Garth Ennis comics, The Boys is a refreshing take on the superhero genre.

It centres on a corrupt superhero corporation and the tireless efforts of a few ordinary men and women who wish to take them down.

The series, which has been nominated for six Primetime Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Drama Series and Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series, is now on its third season and a fourth season on the way.

An animated spin-off called The Boys Presents: Diabolical is also on Amazon Prime.

Urban now resides in Auckland, New Zealand with his wife Natalie Wihongi and their two sons, Hunter and Indy.

Karl Urban is set to star in the 2023 untitled Star Trek sequel, as well as Ark: The Animated Series, which is set to release later this year, alongside Elliott Page and Michelle Yeoh.
