Quentin Tarantino has again teased he might make a third Kill Bill film.

The iconic director has regularly teased he could revamp the epic samurai sword fighting film series, however he has also been stringing us along about it for a while.

Speaking at the Rome Film Festival this week, he explained to the panel that he has 'no idea' what his next project is but when a reporter asked whether it could be Kill Bill 3 he replied: "Why not?"

He also revealed another idea that he might explore first.

"It's not like my next movie. It's a piece of something else that I'm thinking about doing - and I'm not going to describe what it is," he said. "But part of this thing, there is supposed to be a Spaghetti Western in it.

"I'm looking forward to shooting that [thing] because it's going to be really fun. Because I want to shoot it in the Spaghetti Western style where everybody's speaking a different language.

"The Mexican Bandido is an Italian; the hero is an American; the bad sheriff is a German; the Mexican saloon girl is Israeli. And everybody is speaking a different language. And you [the actors] just know: OK, when he's finished talking then I can talk."

Okay, that sounds wild and would no doubt be one hell of a film.

But back to Kill Bill Vol. 3.

Sadly, Quentin didn't elaborate on whether he would dedicate his time and resources to bringing the story back.

He's previously said that the project is 'definitely' on the cards and he has an idea of how a third instalment would play out, especially considering the second was wrapped up perfectly.

"Well, I do have an idea of what I would do," he told Sirius XM Radio. "That was the whole thing, conquering that concept...exactly what's happened to The Bride since [the last film], and what do I want to do [next].

"Because I wouldn't want to just come up with some cockamamie adventure. She doesn't deserve that!"

"The Bride has fought long and hard. Now, I have an idea that actually could be interesting. I wouldn't do it for a little bit, though. It would be like at least three years from now, or something like that.

"But look, it is definitely in the cards."

Many have suggested the third film could focus on Nikkia.

She was the little girl from Kill Bill, Vol. 1 who saw her mum, Vernita Green (Vivica A. Fox), shot dead in front of her by Uma Thurman's character.

Before Uma leaves, she tells Nikkia: "When you grow up, if you still feel raw about it, I'll be waiting."

That would be the perfect foundation for a third film and Fox has even put forward Zendaya as someone who could play a grown up Nikkia.
