Margot Robbie has revealed how a shot in the trailer for the Barbie movie that features her feet was filmed.
Robbie’s feet have attracted quite a bit of attention since the trailer dropped, even outside of the usual shadowy communities that devote their time to discussing the Australian actor’s feet.
Basically, in the film's trailer Robbie can be seen from the shins down walking across the screen wearing a pair of heels, before stepping straight out of them and walking away with no shoes but her feet still arched.

Greta Gerwig’s film about the ubiquitous childhood doll is set to come out this summer, with Robbie starring alongside talent such as Ryan Gosling, Will Ferrell, Michael Cera, Emma Mackey, among many others.
However, it’s Robbie’s feet that seem to have taken top billing, with many making mention of how often they appeared in the trailer, as well as commenting on Margot’s foot gymnastics getting out of the shoes.
However, now it turns out that instead of studio wizardry, they are actually Robbie’s feet after all.
She even revealed how they filmed the seemingly gravity-defying stunt.

It’s as simple as some tape and a bar.
No really, they taped the shoes to the floor so that they wouldn’t move, and Robbie just held onto a bar so that she could balance.
In a world of Avatar-style CGI and post-production magic, that’s pretty refreshing to hear.
Asked how long it took to perfect, Robbie told Fandango: “Probably eight takes.
“It wasn't that many.

“They are my feet.
“I walked up, we had those sticky bits on the floor, double-sided tape for the shoes, so they wouldn't come off, so I could get my feet out of them.
“I was holding on to like a bar, but that was it.
“I wasn't like in a harness or anything like that.
“I just like walked up, kinda held on to the bar above the camera, and stepped off.”

The feet seem to be a key point in the premise of the film, which sees the titular doll – played by Robbie – living out her dream existence in Barbie World.
As so often is the case – however – things don’t quite turn out like that.
She starts to have a bit of an existential crisis, leading her to be expelled from Barbie World, setting off with Ken to find the real meaning of life and happiness.
Something like that, anyway.

Anyway, over the course of the film – as you’ll notice in the trailer – that leads to her feet moving from their traditional arched stance to a more flat-footed look.
It’s probably symbolic of one thing or another.
One person described the new movie as a ‘film with Margot Robbie’s feet as a plot point’.
Another said: "I wonder how many people would believe me if I went back in time one year and told them that Margot Robbie's feet would be an important plot point in a big Hollywood movie?”
A third noted: “This is the third movie I've seen with a closeup of Margot Robbie's feet."
Barbie will be released in cinemas in the US and UK on 21 July.
