Margot Robbie may be one of the biggest actors in the world in 2025, but she was widely unknown when she appeared in 2013's Wolf of Wall Street.
The Martin Scorsese film has gone down as a 2010s classic, starring the likes of Leonardo DiCaprio and Jonah Hill alongside Robbie.
Following the story of infamous stoke broker Jordan Belfort, the title is set in the 90s and focuses on Belfort and the founding of Stratton Oakmont, an over-the-counter brokerage house that defrauded shareholders, it was later found.

Before Belfort and his associates are arrested though, viewers are given a somewhat accurate insight, albeit slightly toned down, into Belfort's outrageous lifestyle.
Booze, drugs, and parties were a regular instalment for the American, who made it to the top before being kicked off the ladder and being arrested.
But many will remember Robbie's role in the film as Naomi Lapaglia, based on Belfort's real ex-wife, Nadine Macaluso.

Why didn't Margot Robbie's brother speak to her?
Robbie was introduced to the audience across a number of scenes, including one where DiCaprio's character snorts a line of cocaine off her chest.

However, the Aussie actress revealed on the Screen Time podcast that she watched the film with her family. That's a bold move.
Awkward would be an understatement, as despite her outstanding performance as Belfort's second wife, a few scenes in particular would have stood out in making them uncomfortable, as she leaves nothing to the imagination.
One of her brothers was so shocked that he didn't talk to her for a while, as she recalled: "One of my brothers didn’t speak to me for three months afterwards - not because he was mad, he was just, like: ‘I just need a minute before I can consider you my sister again!’"
How did she feel while watching with her family?
"I can’t tell you how uncomfortable that was," she said of the experience.

In the film, Robbie, playing Lapaglia, emerges nude from her bedroom in one scene to seduce Belfort and in another, she wears no panties to tease him after she catches him cheating.
That's not what you'd call family-friendly, in all fairness.

Why it was her choice to go fully nude in the film
Speaking to Ben Makiewicz as part of his Turner Classic Movies podcast Talking Pictures, Robbie said that she insisted on going nude in her famous nude scene in the film.

While Scorsese suggested that she wear a robe in the seduction scene, where Lapaglia lures a married Belfort to her apartment, she interjected.
"(Scorsese) said, ‘Maybe you can be wearing a robe if you’re not comfortable.’ But that’s not what she would do in that scene," Robbie explained.
Just 22 at the time, the actress had no fear in stripping down on camera, though she previously admitted that she had 'a couple shots of tequila' before the scene as she felt 'very nervous'.
Robbie added: “The whole point is that she’s going to come out completely naked - that’s the card she’s playing right now.”

How Robbie felt about slapping Leonardo DiCaprio
When auditioning for the film at first, it turns out that Robbie secured the role by doing the unthinkable and slapping Hollywood royalty DiCaprio clean across the face.

Thinking when she had just 30 seconds left of the audition, she thought about 'doing something impressive' before losing her opportunity, she said in an interview with Harper's Bazaar.
"And so I start screaming at him and he's yelling back at me. And he's really scary. I can barely keep up," she recalled.
Robbie went on: "And he ends it saying, 'You should be happy to have a husband like me. Now get over here and kiss me.'
"So I walk up really close to his face and then I'm like, 'Maybe I should kiss him. When else am I ever going to get a chance to kiss Leo DiCaprio, ever?'"
But this is where she went completely off-script, remembering: "But another part of my brain clicks and I just go, Whack! I hit him in the face. And then I scream, 'F**k you!' And that's not in the script at all. The room just went dead silent and I froze."
Speaking on CBS This Morning, she admitted: "I was like, 'I think I’m gonna get arrested. Let alone not work in this town,' and then they burst out laughing. They’re like 'do that again'."
Scorsese also admitted that the 'thunderclap of a slap' clinched her role as Lapaglia.
