You may have spotted some of Pixar’s various Easter eggs and references to characters from other films, whether it’s the famous Luxo lamp in Wall-E or Riley from Inside Out appearing in Finding Dory.

But did you ever notice Mike Wazowski from Monsters Inc sneakily crop up in a number of other flicks?

Mike is, of course, the bright green monster who serves as best friend and colleague to top scarer Sulley in Monsters Inc – the beginnings of their friendship also detailed in the prequel film Monsters University.

While he’s pretty hard to miss, thanks to his spherical body and large, singular eye, you may have missed the fact that he has actually featured in a number of other Pixar films outside of the Monsters Inc franchise.

This includes Cars, in which he appears in vehicular form as a monster truck based on his original character.

The moment comes when we see Radiator Springs residents watching Monster Trucks Inc at the drive-in cinema, with the movie starring truck versions of Mike and Sully as they are banished to a wasteland and greeted by a large yeti – as you do.

Mike also briefly turns up in Wall-E when the titular robot is resting in the shelves – surrounded by none other than a metallic Mike and even a boot belonging to Woody from Toy Story.

Mike’s cameo in Finding Nemo, meanwhile, comes right at the end of the film, as he swims across the screen in snorkelling gear during the credits, just as the ‘special thanks’ arrive.

Finally, our beloved monster can also be seen in Coco, in a blink-and-you-miss-it moment that shows Mike Wazowski, Sulley, Woody and Buzz piñatas in the street.

Last year, one TikToker shared another interesting revelation from Monsters Inc, having worked out what the phrase '23-19' means.

The woman, who goes by username iamfyiya, had recently watched the Pixar movie and noted the scene where monster George Anderson comes out of a child's room with a sock stuck on his back.

As he walks out of the door, one of his colleagues shouts 'We have a 23-19', before an emergency response team surround George and shave all of his fur off in a bid to decontaminate him.

Fyiya, a musician from Ireland, explained: "Oh my god. I was today year's old when I realised when I used to watch Monsters, Inc. I used to be like 'what the hell is a 23-19?'.

"The 23rd letter in the alphabet is W and the 19th letter is S. Standing for white socks. Yep."

At the time, someone else commented: "What????? That's so cool I did not know that either," while another added: "You're like a detective. Why didn't I crack the code?"

A third commented: "That just blew my mind..."

Pointing out another fun fact, someone else wrote: "It's also the initials of the surnames for Mike and Sulley (Wazowski and Sullivan)."
