A TikToker has shared the moment she discovered what '23-19' from Monsters, Inc. means:

As he walks out of the door, one of his colleagues shouts 'We have a 23-19,' before an emergency response team surround George and shave all of his fur off in a bid to decontaminate him.
Fyiya, a musician from Ireland, speaking to the camera saying: "Oh my god. I was today year's old when I realised when I used to watch Monsters, Inc. I used to be like 'what the hell is a 23-19?'
"The 23rd letter in the alphabet is W and the 19th letter is S. Standing for white socks. Yep."
The video has now been watched over 430,000 times as well as receiving 23,000 likes and over 400 comments from people who also had no idea what a 23-19 is.

One wrote: "What????? That's so cool I did not know that either," while another added: "You're like a detective. Why didn't I crack the code?"
A third commented: "That just blew my mind..."
Pointing out a fun fact, someone else wrote: "It's also the initials of the surnames for Mike and Sulley (Wazowski and Sullivan)."
Others were quick to point out that Pixar films always have some reference to 2319 in because that's the studio number that all the producers start off in...

Well, the movie's director and Pixar's chief creative officer, Pete Docter, has at long last addressed the question, 20 years after the film's release.
Speaking to the Huffington Post, he said: "This is one of these questions that we asked ourselves and we went through a lot of different machinations of writing scenes.

"We didn't actually board any, but we felt like, OK, the audience doesn't need to know this because Sulley doesn't know. And we're with Sulley. So who cares?
"Whatever her parents think, we're just going to ignore that. And it turned out pretty OK."
