Chaffe told the two-minute hearing in Chelmsford on Monday that Flint's provisional medical cause of death is hanging.

Police found Flint at his home at 8:08am on Monday 4 March, and later confirmed they were not treating the death as suspicious.

A spokesperson for Essex Police said: "We were called to concerns for the welfare of a man at an address in Brook Hill, North End, just after 8.10am on Monday."

They continued: "We attended and, sadly, a 49-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed. The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner."

A post on The Prodigy's official Instagram account then confirmed Flint had tragically taken his own life.

The emotional posted shared by his band mate Liam Howlett read: "The news is true, I can't believe I'm saying this but our brother Keith took his own life over the weekend.

"I'm shell shocked, fuckin angry, confused and heartbroken ..... r.i.p brother Liam."

The Prodigy also released a statement expressing their sorrow at the singer's passing. It read: "It is with deepest shock and sadness that we can confirm the death of our brother and best friend Keith Flint.

"A true pioneer, innovator and legend. He will be forever missed. We thank you for respecting the privacy of all concerned at this time."

The band later announced it would be cancelling all forthcoming shows 'with immediate effect'.

Rest in peace, Keith.
