The Gallagher brothers marked their first of many homecoming gigs by dedicating a song to one of their personal heroes... and it seems not everyone was onboard.
Last night (11 July) saw Oasis make a triumphant return to Manchester's Heaton Park for the first time since 2009, the first of a number of shows scheduled to take place over this weekend and next week.
The concert was a triumphant success - the generator problems which plagued 2009's set were thankfully nowhere to be seen - except for one minor hiccup which saw fans booing the Gallagher brothers.
But don't panic, as the booing had nothing to do with the band themselves, but rather their opinions on football.

As I'm sure you already know, both Liam and Noel Gallagher are die-hard Manchester City fans and couldn't resist dedicating the song 'D’You Know What I Mean' to their gaffer.

In a clip shared numerous times on X, Liam can be seen telling the crowd: "I’d like to dedicate this next tune to the greatest manager of all time, the one and only Pep Guardiola."
The 52-year-old can then be seen bowing in the direction of the gig's VIP section, where Guardiola was watching along with his wife, as the crowd was divided between boos and cheers.
However the jeers didn't go down well with brother Noel, who questioned: "Who the f**k are you booing, who you f**king booing."

The shoutout wasn't the only nod to Guardiola and his team, with the band also featuring a cutout of the 54-year-old Spaniard onstage, draped in a City blue of course.
Meanwhile Liam later asked fans to perform the 'Poznan bounce', a celebration move often used by MCFC fans, while the band played 'Cigarettes and Alcohol'.

"I don't ask for much," he said, before going on the poke fun at any Manchester United fans in attendance, adding: "Stop sulking. You haven't had a lot to jump around about lately. It's f**king easy, man."
Meanwhile Guardiola could be seen having the time of his life at the gig, with videos taken by fans and his daughter Maria Guardiola showing the Spaniard singing along to 'Don't Look Back in Anger' and likely enjoying being the guest of honour at the gig.

Guardiola even stopped to pose with the brothers' children - Liam's sons Gene and Lennon as well as Noel's kids Anais, Donovan and Sonny - for a snap before the gig.
The picture was later shared by Gene, who wrote in the caption: "Pic of the century alright now everyone els f**k off."
