There's plenty of binging to keep getting that Harlan Coben fix

Now we’re nearing completing a full week of 2024, you’ve probably already binged Netflix’s latest big release.

Fool Me Once landed on the streaming site on New Year’s Day and has been trending ever since.

Watch the trailer here:

Starring Michelle Keegan, Richard Armitage and Joanna Lumley, it’s Netflix’s latest addition to the very popular Harlan Coben Collection.

And if you’ve already binged the new drama and itching for more, there’s seven other series to take in - all adaptations of the mystery and thriller novels by Coben.

Three of them are in English and the others are in Polish, Spanish and French but there are dubbed and sub-titled options.

The Stranger

Richard Armitage also stars in The Stranger.

This English-language one dropped back in 2020 and also stars Armitage as well as Hannah John-Kamen and Siobhan Finneran.

Here’s the synopsis: “Adam Price is a happily married father of two whose life is turned upside-down after a stranger tells him a secret about his wife. The revelation catapults him into a world of danger.”

The Innocent

The Innocent is a Spanish mystery thriller.

A 2021 Spanish adaptation of the 2005 Coben novel, the synopsis reads: “One night, Matt innocently tried to break up a fight and ended up an homicide. Now, nine years later, he’s trying to start from scratch with Olivia, his wife. A shocking call from Olivia’s phone while she’s on a business trip unsettles Matt, and he will start a frenetic race to discover the truth. His innocence will be questioned again, this time by Lorena, a police inspector investigating a suicide case."

Stay Close

Stay Close was released on the streaming service in 2021.

Landing on Netflix in 2021, Stay Close is in English and stars Cush Jumbo, James Nesbitt, Eddie Izzard, Poppy Gilbert, Hyoie O'Grady and - you guessed it - Armitage.

The synopsis reads: “With trademark thrills, gripping suspense and secrets of past crimes beginning to unravel, Stay Close questions how much you really know someone. Four people each conceal dark secrets from those closest to them; Megan a working mother of three, Ray a once-promising documentary photographer, Broome a detective unable to let go of a missing person’s cold case, and Lorraine, an old friend of Megan's.

“As the past comes back to haunt them, threatening to ruin their lives and the lives of those around them, what will be their next move?”

Another Polish adaptation, The Woods was released in 2020.

The Netflix synopsis says: “Set in two time spans: 1994 and 2019 The Woods tells the story of a Warsaw prosecutor, Pawel Kopiński, who is still grieving the loss of his sister from twenty five years ago - the night she walked into the woods at a summer camp and was never seen again.

"But now, the discovery of a homicide victim - a boy who vanished along with Pawel's sister - reveals evidence that links him to her disappearance. As hope rises that his sister could still be alive, dangerous secrets from his family's past threaten to tear apart everything that Pawel has been trying to hold together.”

Ten years later, Judith, whose love has made his life worth living again, suddenly disappears during his mother’s funeral. To find her, Guillaume will have to face all the truths that were hidden from him by his family and friends, as well as those that he’d long decided to ignore. For better, but mostly for worse.”

Safe was the first English-language Harlan Coben Netflix series.

This was the first English-language Harlan Coben series to land on Netflix back in 2018 and features Emmett J. Scanlan, Michael C. Hall and Amanda Abbington.

The synopsis follows: “Tom's wife died a year ago and he's bringing up his two daughters, living in a beautiful, gated community, with close friends nearby and a new relationship starting.

“But when his eldest daughter disappears in mysterious circumstances, he realises that in fact he knows nothing about the people closest to him - dark secrets about the people he loves and the place where he lives.”
