Netflix has added its newest hit series for fans to binge – and viewers are tearing through it in just one sitting.

Ahead of the UK and the US’ bank holiday weekend many will be looking to at some point over the three-day stretch sit down with a good Netflix show and binge it.

Netflix has now added the perfect candidate for this, starring Julianne Moore and a number of other beloved actors.

The TV series focuses on a woman who is concerned about her sister’s relationship with her new boss, fearing she may have joined a cult of some kind.

Alongside Moore, Milly Alcock, Meghann Fahy, Glenn Howerton, and Kevin Bacon all star.

Called Sirens, the series released yesterday on the streamer and has been met with near-unanimously great reviews since.

What is Sirens about?

Alcock and Fahy star as sisters Simone and Devon, with Devon becoming concerned about Simone’s relationship with Moore’s Michaela.

She fears that she has joined a cult who are controlling her and, based on the trailers, viewers would be forgiven for getting undeniably culty vibes from them.

The show was created by Molly Smith Metzler who spoke to RadioTimes about how shocked she was to assemble such an all-star cast.

She said: “With every role that slotted in, we were like 'We can't believe this cast that's coming together'. No one can play Michaela but Julie – no one, she's perfect.”

What have critics and fans said about Sirens?

The series debuted to a score of 73 percent on Rotten Tomatoes and a 7.1 on IMDb, indicating that the large majority are loving the series.

Lucy Mangan, The Guardian’s TV critic and expert, gave the show a perfect five stars, calling it ‘utterly addictive’ before saying: “This endlessly entertaining study in class and family is a witty, star-packed treat that zips through five tight episodes.

“Here’s hoping for a second season.”

One 8/10 review of the film on IMDb from a fan said: “It was a very good five episodes. One to watch if you like a surprise.

“Sat and watched all in one go and enjoyed every episode.

“I will admit it was not the Story I was expecting, which made it even better.”

Empire gave the show four out of five stars, similarly heaping praise on the show.

David Opie said in his review: “Sirens is the perfect getaway: a beautifully shot, deranged tug of war between Julianne Moore, Milly Alcock and a never better Meghann Fahy that flies by in just five episodes. Camp luxury trash at its finest.”

Sirens is available to watch on Netflix now.
