Netflix viewers have been urged to watch a series that is the perfect follow up to a ‘suspenseful and breathtaking’ drama from earlier this year.

Released in February of this year, The Åre Murders racked up a whopping 10,700,000 views in a week on Netflix, leaving it to be one of the top shows on the streamer at the time.

The TV show was met with widespread critical acclaim, receiving an 86 percent on Rotten Tomatoes.

Now though, Netflix have released a show which is a perfect follow up to this.

The Åre Murders is a Scandinavian crime drama and, if anyone has watched the genre, they know that something about the ice-cold climate makes for perfect crime whodunnits.

In The Glass Dome, it seems like Netflix may have another Scandinavian sleeper hit on their hands.

The show, also set in Sweden, centres on a criminologist called Leija, played by Léonie Vincent.

As a child, Leija was trapped in a glass dome by an unknown capturer, and heads home after hearing that another young girl, her friend’s daughter, has gone missing in similar circumstances.

The show was created by Camilla Läckberg, a bestselling Swedish crime author whose works have been translated into over 40 languages in 60 countries.

Trailers for the Netflix show had viewers excited for its release, and it finally came out earlier today, Tuesday, April 15.

The comments on the trailer were near unanimously agreed that people could not wait to watch it.

One said: “I am hooked. Looks good.”

Another added: “Looks like a decent watch! I’ll check it out.”

Collider gave the show a score of 8/10, saying: “The Glass Dome is an absorbing and satisfying whodunnit.

“This is a whodunit that's genuinely unpredictable, frequently thrilling, and ultimately satisfying.”

A review by Absolute Geeks gave the series four stars, calling it a ‘chilling, character-driven mystery’.

The review reads: “The Glass Dome masterfully explores themes of memory, identity, and the enduring impact of trauma.

“The series employs a non-linear narrative structure, utilizing flashbacks to gradually reveal the layers of Lejla’s past and how it intertwines with the present mystery.”

It goes on to conclude: “The Glass Dome stands out as a thought-provoking thriller that combines psychological depth with a compelling mystery.”

In essence – if you’re looking for a Scandi-Noir thriller to binge, Netflix looks to have you sorted for this weekend.

The Glass Dome is available to watch on Netflix now.
