An actor from Stranger Things season five has addressed online claims that there is a ‘secret cut’ of Volume two.
This claim about the new season of Stranger Things has become so widespread that over 280,000 fans signed a petition calling for its release.
The newest volume of Stranger Things’ final season has been met with a massively mixed reaction from fans online, with a large section of the fanbase have taken to social media to slam the new episodes.
Between certain fans raging that Will and Mike didn’t get together (a hugely popular online fan theory) and keen-eyed viewers noticing a glaring mistakes in the new episodes, fans of the Netflix show have been left less than pleased by the new episodes.

For people displeased with the new episodes however hope came in the form of rumours suggesting that there was a ‘secret cut’ of Volume two.
The rumours originated from earlier anonymous ‘leaks’ claiming that near every episode of the show’s final season was going to be over 90 minutes. This included a claim that The Bridge, episode seven of the new season, was going to be one hour and 58 minutes long, instead of the one hour and six minute episode we got.
The Bridge has been the focus of much of the fan backlash, with the episode falling to a 5.5 on IMDB, the lowest of the entire show.
Fans who found out however that there might be a secret cut of the episodes started a petition calling for the release of the ‘unseen footage’.
They stated their belief that either Netflix or the ‘team of Stranger Things’ cut the episodes down, adding: “This has been a long 10 years process and this is what we get. They must have cut out a lot of scenes from volume 2 and from our loved characters. I believe we as fans should stand up and take the initiative to get the footage and make the decision.
“The amount of clues and information we got from the cast members and interviews are not matching up with the episodes provided. We want Stranger Things to have a legacy, not be seen as some show that couldn’t pull though due to it bad writing.”
At the time of writing this has amassed over 287,000 signatures.
While Netflix are yet to publicly address the rumours as they ramp up to the finale, coming out on New Year’s Eve and releasing in cinemas across the United States, one of the actors from the show has debunked the claims.
Randy Havens, who plays Mr Clarke on the show, posted on his Instagram with a simple statement debunking the rumours.
He said: “There is no Snyder Cut of the show, please don’t believe everything some random a** tells you on the internet.”

One Stranger Things fan account shared his post on X, saying: “At this point, continuing to spread petitions, fake runtime images, ‘leaked’ documents, or claims about massive amounts of cut content is blatant misinformation.”
Another fan responded, adding: “Appreciate the clarity, honesty matters most, better to focus on the story we got and enjoy it fully.”
Stranger Things season five volume two is available to stream on Netflix now. The finale episode will release New Year’s Eve at 8pm ET.
