Recruiter Claims British People Don’t Want To Work

Recruiter Claims British People Don’t Want To Work

Sarah shocked viewers with her comments

A recruiter has claimed British people just 'don't want to work', and it's safe to say the comments haven't gone down well with viewers. See what she had to say below:

Sarah Duke runs CRS Recruitment in Bognor Regis, and revealed that she has been struggling to fill vacancies following Brexit.

In an episode of Channel 4's A Very British Job Vacancy, Sarah discussed foreign workers and how they are much more willing to do the jobs Brits just aren't.

In a clip from the three-part series, which was filmed last May, consultant Viola says: "They want work, we given them work, and they don't show up."

Sarah then replies: "You're 100 percent right. Honestly, the British don't want to work.

"The thing with Eastern Europe is they never came in with the attitude of, 'Oh, no, you need to give me this high powered job'."

Agreeing, Viola says: "They came to this country for earning money, and they don't care about what kind of job there is to do."

To which Sarah then adds: "I'm absolutely flummoxed as to what else we need to do.

"After Covid I reckon we're going to have to open the borders more and let more people in."

Expanding on the situation, Sarah said there was a huge demand for workers.

She said: "Work has gone through the roof. It's mental because obviously we deal with logistics. What happened in lockdown, everyone started ordering online.

"The number of depots we supply has doubled since the pandemic. Every business right now is in a situation where they just don't know what the government is going to do.

Viola says foreign workers don't expect high powered jobs and just want a better life.

"The good thing about agencies is, we can plug the gap for short term workers and if the government say lockdown - they're gone, it's disposable isn't it?"

The recruiter's comments regarding British appetite for work, however, did not go down well.

Writing online, one viewer said: "Is this real? Can't be, can it? Tell me it's a load of b******s."

Echoing the confusion, another chimed in: "I can’t tell if #AVeryBritishJobAgency is a genuine fly-on-the-wall doc, or a parody? It can’t be real! Can it?"

"#averybritishjobagency has basically just taught me to never look for a job with them. Absolute a*******s," put a third.

While another added: "Glad I’m not the only one watching #averybritishjobagency and thinking what’s going on. That woman is….interesting."
