Conor McGregor Gives His Prediction For The Mayweather Fight

Mystic Mac has spoken.

Conor McGregor has had a relatively short career so far in UFC, having signed to the promotion in 2013, but he's already left a bigger legacy than most can ever hope to.

His trash talk, his style, his talent and his ability to predict his fights have cemented his place in UFC folklore, and even gained him the label of "Mystic Mac".

He's made a habit of calling exactly when he'll defeat his opponent, usually declaring an early knockout. Not all of his predictions have been spot on, but they do tend to come very close.

So, it's only right that he looks into his crystal ball and attempts to lay down a marker for when he thinks he'll knock out Floyd Mayweather.

According to UFC president Dana White, Conor hasn't been as cocksure as to when he foresaw K.O'ing Jose Aldo in the first round, but does believe the Mayweather fight won't go beyond the halfway mark.

"On the world tour for Jose Aldo vs. Conor McGregor, McGregor was saying 'I will finish this guy in the first round'. This is the greatest 145lber ever, the only 145lbs champion ever in UFC history. Conor knocked him out in 13 seconds," White said on Speak for Yourself. "So last night I landed at LAX and Conor landed at the same time from Ireland. I was waiting for him to get out of the plane. He gets off the flight from Ireland and looks like he was just fitted from Armani.

"And he says, 'I will knock this man out within four rounds.'"

Whether this prediction will come true is a completely different story, as many believe that Mayweather, whose boxing record stands at 49-0, may prove to big a task for The Notorious.

You can't fault his confidence, though. He even quoted Rocky IV villain Ivan Drago during his training for the bout.

'The Notorious' uploaded another training vid to Twitter, this time captioning it with the words of Ivan Drago from Rocky IV: "If he dies, he dies."

Does this add to the intensity of the event, or just make it a bit more of a spectacle? People are leaning to the latter side, claiming that the entire thing is just a money spinner and will be more of a circus rather than a boxing match.

Anyhow, Conor is clearly seeing himself as the villain in this situation, quoting Rocky's nemesis, who beat Apollo Creed to such a bloody mess he was in critical condition and prompting his words.

Conor followed up the video with a picture of himself post-workout, and was this time letting people know that he's "built to run through people."

We'll have to wait until 26th August to find out what actually happens, so if you haven't already, get it in your calendar.
