Sydney Sweeney has spoken out for the first time about rumours of a feud between her Euphoria co-stars.
The show launched back in 2019 and quickly got viewers talking thanks to its glamorous A-list cast and steamy scenes.
Things were amped in the third and final season, which recently concluded, with Sweeney’s character Cassie getting involved in OnlyFans - leading to some seriously NSFW content - and them bumping off a couple of main characters, including Zendaya’s Rue.
The conclusion was a long time coming for fans, who had to face a four-year wait between season two and three.

The large gap between the seasons sent the rumour mill into overdrive with speculation that the delay was due to rifts between the cast members, while other blamed the A-list cast’s busy schedules for holding things up.

More recently, there were also rumours that Sweeney and Zendaya were no longer getting on, with fans pointing out that in the most recent season the two stars didn’t have scenes in which they directly interacted with each other.
Further fuel was added to the fire after Sweeney shared a bunch of behind-the-scenes photos of her time working on the show, including candid snaps with co-stars Jacob Elordi and Alexa Demie, but none with Zendaya.
However, in a new interview with Vanity Fair 28-year-old Sweeney was quick to shut down any rifts between the cast and placed the blame at media spin.
“Well, I mean, we all grew up together on this show, so it’s honestly crazy to watch how much social media and the press spin things,” she said.
Sweeney went on to address claims that cast scheduling was the cause of the delay for the final season.
"I was in first position to HBO,” she explained.
“So the moment they say, 'Hey, this is the first day of filming,' I'm legally not allowed to do anything else. So my schedule doesn't affect the show.

“And so that was funny to watch everybody spin narratives on it. All of us were in first position, so it wasn't like any of our schedules were holding it up.”
Elsewhere in the new interview, Sweeney opened up about her character’s controversial move into OnlyFans, which saw her engaged in ‘age play’ and dressing like a dog.
Real life adult stars have already called out the character’s career choice, but the actor said it made sense for Cassie to go down that road as she has ‘an obsession with being famous’.
“Do I agree with all of Cassie’s decisions? Would I personally make these choices? No, of course not,” Sweeney explained.
“But I’m an actor and that’s my job and this is Cassie’s life and to be able to do her justice and play her how she’s to be played is to bring Sam’s vision to life and to play Cassie in the most vulnerable and insane way possible.”
