Tanya Reynolds Won't Be Returning For Sex Education Season 4

Tanya Reynolds Won't Be Returning For Sex Education Season 4

The actor played Lily in the hit Netflix comedy

Tanya Reynolds won't be returning for the next series of Sex Education, she has revealed.

The actor played the eccentric Lily Iglehart in the first three seasons of the hit Netflix comedy, and quickly became a fan favourite.

The news of her departure comes after Patricia Allison, who plays Lily's girlfriend Ola Nyman in the series, announced that she had quit the show to pursue other opportunities.

Speaking to LADbible, Tanya said she's certain the new series will be as good as ever but revealed that Moordale wouldn't be seeing the alien-loving teen for another term.

Not giving much away as to the reason behind the decision, the 30-year-old said: "My character's not back either.

"I was expecting people on this [promotion for new comedy] to ask that question, so I haven't really, yeah, I haven't really spoken about it yet, but Lily's not back either.

Lily won't be returning for season four of Sex Education.

"It will be, it will be great... it will be great. There'll be lots of new characters and people will forget all about little old Lil."

Now, if you're a fan of Sex Ed, you will know that no one will be able to forget her... or her artwork.

When we last saw Lily, at the end of season three, she and Ola had managed to patch things up following a very tense falling out.

At the time, fans were excited to see where their story would go, however, last week, Patricia revealed that she had left the show.

She told Capital Xtra: "I absolutely have loved being on Sex Education so, so much and playing Ola. But, unfortunately, I won't be joining the team for season four."

Patricia went on: "I'm just going to be doing some other little things. Some other opportunities have come up. I've been doing it for three years and I've genuinely loved it.

"I have to say goodbye at some time, which is kind of sad. But other things are coming! And that's really exciting."

But Sex Ed fans won't have long to wait until they see Tanya on their telly again.

She is starring in the new Channel 4 comedy I Hate You, which comes from the mind of Friday Night Dinner creator Robert Popper and is set to land next month.

Tanya plays twenty-something Charlie who lives in a flat with her best mate Becca (Melissa Saint).

It follows the pair as they try to navigate life as semi-adults, pursuing bizarre romances and dealing with peculiar bosses.

No release date has been set yet for I Hate You.
