American actor and comedian TJ Miller has revealed how his brain condition can get a lot more dangerous if he doesn't get enough sleep.
Enough kip is crucial for all of us to have a functioning day, but for Miller, it is more crucial to have eight or nine hours of sleep each night.
In a segment from the Steve-O's Wild Ride! podcast, Miller revealed he suffers from an AVM or an arteriovenous malformation from birth.

He describes it as a malform part of the brain that never really develops.
Speaking on the podcast, Miller said: "I had brain surgery, and they took out a golf sized piece of my brain.
"[The AVM part of the brain] is prone to hemorrhaging.

"Because I don't have the same amount of brain as the two of you, the rest is the elasticity of the brain, all the other parts picked up the slack and so I seem act and think as if I'm a regular person.
"But what is different is that I'm prone to mania and what somebody who is bipolar feels, I don't feel the depression side of that, but I can tip my way into the mania."
Miller is then asked if he knows when he is about to enter the phase, to which he responded: "It is hard to tell until you are in it, and then when you are in it you are so far gone - I've never done cocaine, but some people say it's like that."

Examples of Miller's condition pushing him into mania have been very public, with an incident on a train in 2018 being the most notable one.

Miller was arrested in New York after allegedly making a false call about a bomb threat on a train.
However, the charge was dropped in 2021 after prosecutors said Miller's past brain surgery influenced the decision to drop the case.
The Deadpool actor then goes on to discuss how important it is to have enough sleep to help manage his condition.
"I had a manic episode on the train and what happens is because of my condition, I have to get eight or nine hours of sleep a night.

"If I don't sleep for an entire night, it is very dangerous and the other thing that's dangerous is combinations - so five hours of sleep, having a bunch of drinks, being dehydrated.
"All those things I can start to get my feet in mania."
