Disney Criticised For 'Unrealistic' Body Shape On Female Character

"Where are her organs?"

Social media users have pointed out the 'unrealistic' body type in one of Disney's cartoons.

The short Inner Workings, which was released in 2016, tells the story of a fella named Paul who longs to leave behind his boring life and have some fun.

Paul's love interest is a woman named Kate who has a seriously huge bum, while her waist is about the same size as her neck.

Screenshots of Kate were shared by Twitter user Glitch, who wrote: "In no world did [Disney] need to do this."

The post has picked up more than 180,000 likes and plenty of comments, with many calling out Disney for the bizarre proportions given to Kate.

One person wrote: "I know it's just a cartoon but for the love of God... they need to put some belly on that girl.

"It makes me sad thinking kids out here thinking that's how their body should look.

"It's naturally impossible to have a booty like that with no belly at all."

Someone else said: "And funny how Disney back in the days were making realistic proportions of princesses and princes - no big eyes, no extreme waist, everything was so much nicer when looking normal.

"Funny how they make big eyes now for kids to 'understand emotions' like what kind of BS is that?"

A third wrote: "What's with the smashed body proportions it looks wrong and strange purpose for comedy reasons it's not funny.

"I'm sorry but this is just lazy character development."

While someone else asked: "Where are her organs?"

This isn't the first movie that's raised a few eyebrows over its character depictions in recent days, either.

Viewers who were watching Grease for the first time over Christmas were left shocked by some of the content - branding it 'sexist' and 'rapey' but others said it needed to be viewed in the context of when it was released.

One person wrote: "Tbh Grease is rapey and slut shaming and probably kinda homophobic and creepy but it was made in a different time when this sort of s*** still wasn't OK but it was accepted."

While another wrote: "To those who think Grease is sexist, homophobic, racist, etc... Yes, it is but if you cannot understand that life was like that in the 70s then don't ever watch a movie done before 2010."

Someone else added: "Not offended by Grease, nor do I want it 'cancelled' or 'banned' but watching it now I see problematic scenes that make me cringe when I watch it."
